Barclay's website down

Ugh.  Just went through the entire process for their MC rewards card app and got a message saying their website is down due to technical issues and to try again later or call their 800 number.  I'm now thinking this just saved me from a failed HP. Credit scores for TU are fair, 650s. Chances of qualifying? No BK, low utilization, 3 old derogs about to get deleted.

Was able to log on just fine... Ya you have a chance at the rewards MC..  Depends how many TU pulls you have and how recent they are along with utilization on other cards.. Depending if you don't have many inquires or new account and good utilization you have a shot at it imo.

edit: Barclay's also usually likes to see 1 year of credit history on a cc.. They don't like being the guniea pig lender

@Anonymous may have gone through.. Call and see if you have been approved or not.  You scores are in the range for approvals and note Barclays always pulls TU as @CreditCuriosity stated.  Keep us posted on results..

Re: Barclay's website down

How long is your credit history with cards? If it's less than a year, don't waste the HP. I got denied recon strictly because I only had 7 mo's recent history.

Thanks, guys! Only 3 inquires and solid payment /utilization history, but only for five months. Goal is to finish this app process for quality cards then basically gardening for the main reason of mortgage journey jan/feb of next year.

Don't bother with Barclays. You will be auto-denied recon because of the bold, if you don't get approved.

EDIT: Call them to verify their HP didn't go through either.

Re: Barclay's website down

Thank you! I will call and if it didn't go through then I will leave it at that. I've got two quality cards to work with right now at least.

Good to know! I've got. BOA and Chase Freedom,  it's  only five months at best, and only two cards I use right now and PIF every month. Love the cash back rewards! If you have any other recommendations, please let me know. I'm still trying to learn as much possible about what my score can do for now and being realistic with apps.

Re: Barclay's website down

Depends on what you're looking for, and what your lifestyle is:

Do you have student loans?

Do you travel and/or fly a lot?

Do you strictly want cash back?

Etc..

Can't talk from experience.. You have similar scores to me it seems, and I couldn't get approved for either of those cards you have.
