Barclays Apple Rewards Visa Recon

Today, I applied for an Apple Visa Rewards, and I was instantly denied.  After reading a couple posts, I decided to contact the 24hr Barclays credit anaylst line.  After speaking to rep and answering a couple questions about several items on my report, I was instantly approved for $3,000,  He also mentioned, he didn't know why the system denied me in the first place.  Good thing I have myfico forum, otherwise, I would have never asked for a second look.

Thanks you guys!!

Re: Barclays Apple Rewards Visa Recon

I have a bit of an interesting story to share!

I am still in college and opened my first credit card account literally a month ago with Capital One with a limited $200 credit line.

Feeling hopeful, I applied for the Apple Rewards card ysterday (1/17),  and was instantly denied.

I called the recon number today (1/18) at 866-408-4064 and was told that I had insufficient credit history.

I called the recon number I kid you not thirty minutes later, was asked the same questions, and then was approved for a $1,000 credit line!

But wait, it gets better...

I called the recon number again to ask for a credit limit increase because I am greedy and wanted to put the entire Macbook purchase on my card... and was APPROVED!

Now I have a credit line of $1,500 after calling the recon number 3 times in a matter of 2 hours... DO NOT GIVE UP!

I should also mention that I started the second and third recon calls off by saying "Hi, yes, I am looking to buy a Macbook online as we SPEAK..." -- which in my opinion instilled some sense of urgency in them to get this done.

At this time my TU is a measly 611 and my Equifax is 656 because I am young with no history past a month long. If I can do it, so can you!

Hope this helps someone.
