Hello Fam. Wanted the Aviator for future travel and the 50,000mi SUB...
I came out of the garden last week to try for the Aviator Red MC. Got the 7-10 day message, which I expected. Checked the online status checker, it said I was denied. Figured I’d wait in the letter. I got the denial letter in the mail yesterday which stated too many new accounts. I have 8 in the past 12 months.
I called (1st time around 11:18a est) today and spoke to a very nice (professional) man and told him about the letter. I asked that he recon. He said, sure. Put me on hold and came back to ask a few questions. He asked if my income was as I stated on the app, what I do for work and how long I’ve been there. Then asked, why did you open 6 accounts in the past 6mo. I said to diversify my portfolio. Lol. (Felt like I was “on the clock”). He told me that my record of on time payments was up to par with what they wanted to see but wanted to see how I do with the new accts. Thank you, goodbye.
Waited for 2nd shift and called back. Spoke to a very nice (professional) lady. Gave her the same spill and she put me on hold. She dug a little deeper into my CR and asked some waaayyy back questions. Like 10yrs ago. Why I closed these cards and didn’t have any credit cards between 2011 and 2018. Also asked why the 2 infamous Comenity cards were opened and closed (with a balance) within a month. I was honest with her. But, she stated the same reason for denial except she went back 12mo (8 new accts.) Told me they wanna see some age on the new accts and that I could apply again later. Neither one mentioned anything about my score or inq, which I thought was interesting.
They pulled TU
AoOA is 5yr 1mo (open accts)
AoAA is 1yr 2mo
AoYA is 1mo
TU inq 8/24 and 4/12
Util is 9.8%
Current scores in my sig.
Should I wait for 3rd shift and try again? Should I wait a year and try again? Should I give up on it all together? Anybody have a similar experience?
Thank you all! Sorry for the long post.
