Barclays Hawaiian help

I'm due to close on a VA loan on Dec 6th and my question is: Should I wait till the mortgage appears on my CR or shortly after close as the mortgage TL might impact scores?  I've heard of people either getting offers or applying once creditors see the mortgage on the CR.

My util at time of close on the house would be about 18%, very low inqs and Fico 8's 680-695 income @ 110k

Re: Barclays Hawaiian help

Forgot one thing, I burned Barclays for $800 2 years ago in my BK7, when I do apply would that have any impact?

Re: Barclays Hawaiian help

If you burnt barclay's I wouldn't waste your time on applying as they won't approve you and not worth wasting a HP.  They have an extremely long memory.

I didn't know that, yet they send me a pre-approval letter for their entry rewards card-huh

Interesting...Others on here have burnt barclay's/juniper and have mentioned their very long memory.. Sure a few others will ring in here on this subject soon enough.. Did you ever pay them back although obviously not required to with bk7?  That certainly would help, but doesn't gurantee anything.

Re: Barclays Hawaiian help

I didn't pay them back the $767 I owed, your attorney tells you not too.  The pre approval means nothing right now as I can't app until Dec 7th or so.

Re: Barclays Hawaiian help

Just a warning... don't apply for anything till those keys are in your hand, and wait a day to be safe.

I had 3 soft pulls on the day we closed from the lender, pulled before we signed. They were "statistical pulls". I was told they were to verify no new accounts between March and July when we were approved and closed.

Sure you know this, so disregard. Sounds like you do.

Best of luck!
