How many times would you suggest calling recon for one app with Barclays?
Reason for denial, too many new accounts.
Is that just going to be standard across the board? If so, I'll save my breath.
I was super nice to them, he was super nice to me (except the saying no part.)
5 new accounts since February was his wording.
5 new accounts since Feb. 2015 doesnt seem like anything outrageous. More importantly, what is your TU fico score, what card did you apply for, what is your utilization, do you have a relationship with Barclays?

My answers in red.

Dang sorry to hear that. If you feel like it, one more crack at it won't hurt. I also think they keep a record of calls. Maybe try approaching them at a different angle "I was told I need X amount of accounts to build/rebuild credit" or "I'd really enjoy your product because of X" but I'll be honest the new accts can be difficult to get past with them.
If you take a shot at another recon and if it starts to go south, ask to reallocate limits if you have another Barclay card
This is the exact road I took with them. Used the recon denial conversation from 6 months ago and said "hey, I did what you told me."
I don't throw around the "G" word often, but with my defeats this week, I think that's the best route for me for now. Not getting this card was a complete and total shock. I saved it til the end because I just "knew" it was guaranteed.
I'm too stubborn not to try again.
I find it funny that Barclays mentions new accounts, but Chase who is super new acct sensitive, didn't.
Not going to lie, this is hilarious.
I had a break in the action at work, so I decided to call again, why not, right? I know they monitor the calls and I know they knew I already called in, so what difference would it make if I called today, tomorrow etc, right?
Well, I called and I gave my information and then was told "sir, I already spoke with you earlier today, the decision isn't going to change."
Yep, I got the same rep.
You can't make this stuff up. Between living in Iowa (which limits the Barclays cards I can get significantly) and now this, I think I'll be staying away from Barclays, pretty sure it's not meant to be.
