Just like the title says...
Called in today to see if I could get a SP CLI from Barclays. I've had this card since 3/31 @ $1,000. Reconned immediately after approval and got an additional +$500, so total $1500 CL. I've racked up close to $2k in charges in this month alone and have made about 4 payments for the month already, $300/$400/$200/$200, currently carrying a $700 balance. I use this just about everyday as my regular card so usage is high, but I always make lumpsum payments.
The CSR rep asked what I was looking for and I asked for a total CL of $2500. He reviewed his SP CR and asked about a charge off from macys that is 5 years old. He mentioned it is un unpaid charge off, which I plan on leaving that way as it'll drop off some time in the near future, is why I haven't really addressed it. He also asked about my recent inquiries, asking why I have had several? Currently I am @ like 12/10/13 across all CRA since I have been on the rebuild path, most of which were in the last few months. I explained to him my situation and after a small chat, he said he is unable to grant me the CLI. He said he would like to see more payment history and less INQ in the near future. I told him I never pay the minimum and have made large payments at a time, about 4x a month. He pretty much said that doesn't really do us no good in gauging your payment history.
He just shot me down in a nice way, basically telling me to continue to do what I am doing and try not to have so many INQ later down the road and to try again. Granted, I have only had this card for about a month and I am probably jumping the gun in requesting a limit, but a closed mouth doesn't get fed and it didn't hurt to at least try.
My current highest card is Capital One @ $2k, which I've had since October starting @ $500. I really want to start seeing bigger SL and larger CL's and I'm sure I will be due for a CLI from capital one in the near future, so that should at least be a 100% CLI, hopefully to $4k on all 3 of my cards which are currently sitting at $2k CL.
What a bummer..
I hate patience..
i think you're correct when you state you may be jumping the gun Less than a month even with decent payments won't show a long term payment history,
If you keep doing what you're doing, after 6 months Barclays may give you an AUTO cli....THat's what happened with my wife's. Keep your overall UTL low as well.
6 months with barclay!

@I usually always keep my util % low, overall is roughly like 6%. Only cards that are sitting high are Chase @ 400/500 and Barclays @ 700/1500. Chase I bought a laptop and am taking advantage of the 0% 15 month, which I will be paying off in 2-3 months anyways. I know scores have dipped a bit since the higher balance on per card went up, it lowered my score a bit. I am not worried as once they are paid the scores should go back to where they were before the balances.
I agree with the other responses. You need to give it some more time. Barclays is really good at big SP increases, so you'll get there.
Best of luck!
I'm right there with you. Barclays was the first card I applied for during my March app spree, and the $1300 CL seemed OK until I then got 4500, 5000, 5000, and 10000 from other lenders. Groceries, gas, and utilities make up a big portion of my spend, so I really need a higher CL. I should have reconned immediately because I know they won't give me one now with so many INQs and new accounts reporting.
Sorry to hear. I know the feeling. Feels like forever! Just tried Discover & stuck at 8.2k right now. No luv this time.

6 months feels like 6 years!
That may be case but we all keep preaching. its a marathon not a sprint. but i understand your frustration. but less than a month. will not get it. 6 months for sure. then boom. it will past quickly. don't worry. by that time. you won't even be interested in a cli from barclays.
It hasn't even been a month, and technically you got an increase when you reconned the inital limit.
You definitely need to give it more time. 6 months. Then you can try again.
