Other than for network diversity there is no real reason to have a Barclays card.  At least for me that is with my $1500 CL.

I started out with $1500 CLI and it froze there.  When apped my scores were in the lower 700s, so I'm not so sure that waiting for a higher score will give OP any better chance of higher CL.   Barclays may be waiting for people to cancel other accounts before extending additional credit.

I am approaching a one year mark since app time and also thinking about apping for a new card then transfering new CL to the older account.  And then PC to a product that fits my need.

Pretty much the same thing here; I got approved for the Rewards card with a high 600s score, I am now 100 points up (776 TU) with no CLI. My card will be one year old in a few weeks. Going to apply for Sallie Mae and then move the limit if I can and close Rewards. I haven't even used the card this month, just Freedom due to the good categories and my mom giving me a Publix giftcard for groceries. If I can't get SM, will go for Quicksilver or Double Cash and then close Rewards.

Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500

Has anyone run into issues with Barclays where they refuse to move off your initial credit limit ?   I was granted a 250.00 line in april of 2014 never missed a payment and have PIF multiple times running around 1k through the card.  My FICO is around 60 pts higher then when i recd the card .  I have other cards with much higher limits however barclays refuses to grow. Hate to close it but the $250 is doing nothing for me .   Low utilization across the board not an excessive amt of inq either..

What was your TU FICO at first app and what is it now?

You'd be best off to app for a new Barclay's product, then close the current one and roll it's limit into your new card.

I agree with Nixon.

OP - if you were approved through reconsideration and/or less than desirbale scores as you  provided then that explains it pretty much.  Optimize your profile and scores to leverage another Barclays card (if you prefer to maintain a relationship) then reallocate the CL (if applicable and worth it to you).

Yeah Barclays is pretty bipolar. Some are treated great. Others like red-headed stepkids.

LOL baller I could not of put that better myself. I've had no issues with barclays even in the beginning rebuilding they gave me an initial toy card $500 but then bumped it to $2k without issue and since then I now have a Sallie Mae which was approved for 2.5k and then increased to 5k and I moved the old rewards card of 2k over to it since so I'm sitting 7k with SM so yeah it is definitely a YMMV type deal.

This definitely seems the case.  I got a $1300 initial CL with them 10/13.  Shortly thereafter I started gardening (with a quick stop-off when I needed some dental credit) and hit the luv button online earlier this month, asking for an additional $7k.  CLI got declined there, but I called about an hour later, they pulled a fresh copy of my report and countered with a $3.7k CLI for a total of $5k with them.  Definitely YMMV with Barclays.  I haven't tried for the Sally Mae card yet, I'll wait another 6-12 months and let a few baddies fall off.

No, I wasn't given a World upgrade yet, so it's still the Rewards MC.  Is that something they just do, or would I have to ask for it?

Do not close Barclay! Even if it's just $250, leave it. They'll do cli eventually. When I opened a Rewards MC with them, my initial limit was $500. I always PIF'ed. In 6 months I decided to hit the luv button, denied. However, next week I got an auto-cli of $1k bringing my limit up to $1500. Weird? Yes.
