Barclays Whats your deal !

I dont know what the deal is with this company and why is it so hard to get approved for any of their cards.  I read the reviews looked into the approval odds and what peoples scores and income were and it seemed they pull TU most of the time.  TU has always been my best score but they deny me over and over again.  I have no baddies no missed payments my UTIL is usually around 18% and my oldest TL is 9 months.  I dont know what the deal is.  I called twice for recon and couldnt get a decent answer i get the dreaded rejection letter and it says either too much revolving accounts or not enough history with making payments on tradelines.  Seriously what is their problem I can go at any time to SYNCH Bank and apply for any card and get approved but Barclays is a no go.  Think its time they join Chase and DIscover on my Never Apply Again List

Thanks for reading my post as always your comments and advice are welcome.  Have a Blessed Day

Re: Barclays Whats your deal !

Barclays is new account and inquiry sensitive ... if your oldest account is 9 months and looking at your signature this could be the answer to your question ?  Head to the garden for 6 months (no inquiries) and then you might get the result you are looking for.

Re: Barclays Whats your deal !

Synchrony is known to be a bit easier to get approved with, especially their store cards. Barclays on the other hand, prefers you have at least a year of history before they even consider you, no matter how good your TU score is. Remember it's never just about score. They are a conservative lender.

Time.

get 12 to 18 months of history on your current accounts with an exemplary payment record.

no more apps for at least 6 months then app for the Rewards card.

YMMV, but that should do the trick if your profile is as you describe.

that was my route

Re: Barclays Whats your deal !

Comparing Barclays and Synchrony are like comparing apples and oranges. All lenders are different and have different UW requirements, while scores are a factor there is always more to it. It's nothing personal it's just business. Besides there's nothing really special about Barclays that you can't find with other cards.

Re: Barclays Whats your deal !

I thank all of you for your responses and advice.  I applied for barclays back in September and I only bring it up now because I saw a post on Barclays and how people got approved for it.  I am gardening actually have been since December 1 2015, I have vowed that I will not apply for another card until at least December 2016 or later.  I have way way to many HP's on all 3 CRA and I believe that applying to anyone right now would be a waste of time and another HP. I want to acheive my goal next year of getting what I call my Goal Cards.  Cap 1 Venture which is first on my list  and hopefully by some miracle an AMEX card..  Acheiving them is on the top of my GOALS LIST.

Re: Barclays Whats your deal !

You already have great cards you don't need Barclays. To me they can be a be careful what you wish for card. As music lover said come to the garden, it's really not that bad of a place, kinda relaxing actually 😀
