Barclays and SSN

I applied 12 [business] days ago for one of their cards (Uber). I got a pending application, called and they asked for SSN, license, and billing. I mailed it the same day, USPS, snail mail (big mistake, I guess). I called 10, 7, and 2 [business] days ago, and they keep telling me they haven't been able to process it yet. It was within their "7 to 10 business days". I was assuming that they at least got it. Today, I called, and was told they haven't received it yet, and was asked to send it again.

What a nightmare. This means a copy of my SSN is lost in transit, most probably.

My question is, is there a chance that it could still be in transit? Also, based on your experience with Barclays, how long do they usually process identity verification? Is it right to assume it was lost, or was the CSR just assuming it is? I am debating whether to send a copy again or wait it. I am also debating whether or not to pursue the application — it irks me because they already did an HP, and was told I am most likely approved for the card, after identity verification. On one end, I want to abandon it, on the other, it's just one more thing to do.

Re: Barclays and SSN

Did you send the requested documents with any tracking and/or receipt information?

Sometimes, not always, there can be a delay on the backend with processing. IIRC, one poster's application took 3 weeks to get fully processed and eventually approved so YEMV.

No, that was my big mistake. I sent it through normal stamped mail. I am thinking of waiting maybe one more week before deciding whether to resend the documents, or withraw my application. I am just very anxious that my info might be lost in transit. I kept asking Barclays if they have a more secure encrypted electronic channel where I can send it instead, but i guess their infrastructure is ancient.
