What would you say would be the best choice for my first credit card at PENFED if I get approved...
Thanks in Advance
depends on what you will buy and what kind of rewards you want. Check out their offerings and pick the one that fits your needs/wants

I agree that it should be the one that fits your needs the best. I have the Platinum Rewards Visa for the rewards and the Promise Visa for low interest rates when I need to charge a large item or have an emergency charge. What your individual needs are should dictate which card you acquire. Good luck!

I have the Pronise for the low APR because I have too many other rewards type cards as it but I've heard a lot of good things about the Platinum a Rewards one that you gave as well.
I applied for Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa. It's my first card. I like the card because 5% for gas purchase.
Ron.

Ron, that one caught my - I really have all of the rewards cards I need. But having a full time 5% gas card would be nice. Is there a catch to redemption?

No, you don't need to redeem. It gives you statement credit on the statement. You don't have to redeem. I think it is a good card to start. They give your pre-approval afte a year if you keep the card in good standing. Now, I have most of their cards and PLOC. They pulled EQ.

I am guess I am the lone wolf with the Defender Card---however you do have to be active or previous active military or honorable discharged veteran to qualify for that one. I like the no fees of anykind part of it.
