BoA CCR denial

Ok so I run both my personal and my business checking and savings through BoA and I was interested in the Customized Cash Rewards card from Bank of America. I figured I would have a good chance since I been with them so long.

anyway I seen I had a message in my BoA app and it looked like an offer so I applied.

instant denial, but they wanted to get me on a $500 limit card with a $99 security deposit. I rejected it.

660ish across all 3 (they only pulled Experian)

25% utilization

some baddies from over 4 years ago

10 inquiries with the newest being 7 months ago when I got my truck.

Re: BoA CCR denial

When BofA counter-offers with a secure credit card offer like yours sometimes it means you may have past derogatory history with them and that is the best offer they're willing to give a customer. Are some of your baddies previously with BofA by any chance? If so that may be a roadblock that will take awhile it's hard to say really since it seems to be YMMV if/when someone can finally get back in. I would continue gardening, get your utilization down, and clean up the derogs on your account to try again in the future if you're set on getting the CCR card

Is the 660 score figure you provided FICO or Vantage? And, is the 25% utilization across all revolving tradelines or a specific one?

Unfortunately, since you haven't received the letter it's hard to say what the actual or main reason(s) were cited for the denial, but you can definitely share or update your thread once you receive it.
