Thanks for this thread and it’s data points. I have the no frills Bankamericard as a BT card with $13k cl that could use some space to improve util and I have an Alaska card with $0 balance and $18k cL. I see the luv button on the BT card but I’ve been hesitant to use it because I knew they may just takes from the Alaska. Realistically I don’t need more than $5k on th Alaska so I guess it wouldn’t matter but I’d prefer $10k. if they moved in a manner I don’t like, can I have some say in the matter?Yes, you can request they move the limits around to your liking. Now I'm not sure if it takes a HP or not to do but considering the topic is requesting CLIs and you've already taken the HP that's good for 30 days anyways I don't see that being an obstacle. I can only see it being an issue if they have a timeout period after requesting a CLI for moving credit around. Hopefully someone with experience in that will chime in.
Will BOA use my same TU pull I used for a CLI for a application? Even though they pull Experian for apps?
Yes. Again, the HP is good for 30 days.

I’ve been asking every 3-5 months for about 2 years and have seen massive gains until I seem to have been cut off at $99,900 about 3 months ago. Mostly $5-20k at a time for myself and DW.This is kind of like what Im talking about, so you probably have 6-8 inqs from Boa alone in those 2 years?
Dont you feel like in the same 2 years you could have gotten to 100k with less inqs, say every 6 months, getting bigger cli increments instead?
It depends on how one views how much a HP is worth. Those that already have accounts established don't want to add more credit lines but just want to increase the limits available. Why some like AMEX with their current CLI system. Me personally I don't mind using HPs at this point with no future loans/mortgages in my future and wanting to limit the effects of AAoA with any new accounts. But I also acknowledge that BofA seems to be the only one worth doing HPs for if you have the profile to get those limits.
I don't think letting time go between requests does much to change what BofA decides as far as granting requests unless your credit scores change dramatically during those periods of time since they pull TU. I guess income and assets probably also play a part but for general purposes scores are the main determining factor for a lot of poeple here on this forum.
You are right, I guess I've been sneaking my gameplan into my questions subconsciously. I've left out a couple of tradelines from my signature but I'm at about 100k in total credit and I wanna get to 200k. For that I was planning to do one more round of apps but only when 2-3 of my current cards got in the 20k's. Amex and Disco will get there this year and I thought Boa could be the third but I'm hesitant to load TU up with inquiries and mess up with gameplan since I'm not sure yet which cards I'll be applying for.
This is exactly the thread I was looking for. I am at $48k on my BBR, and have had this limit for about 2 years. Took a hard pull to go from $25k to 48k at that time.
I just paid a $23k balance on that card to $0 that was building up / riding for about 5 months. Same with my Amex Delta made a single payment last week for $17k that was building over the past 6 months. Statement just cut 2 days ago, and CCT is showing 789 EXP / 794 TU / 781 EQ with the updated balances. No inq's over the past 1yr on all 3 but between 2-5 on the reports over the past 24 months. Current util accross all cards is 16%.
I would like to request $80k+, and this thread is giving me hope. My income is also solid > $250k. Should I do that,or is $32k too big of a jump? Should I request more? Don't want to waste a hp for a small ( < $15k) bump.
Also, if you are over $50k limit will the CR still count revolving balances on this card as utilization?
Help appreciated!

We have almost identical stats. I am very curious on what you decide to do!

Pulled the trigger - assume it was a HP but no clue yet.
Anyway, asked for $100k, but only got $58k total. Not sure how I feel about that, I might have to call on Monday but I'm sure that would cost another HP if they looked again. I might hit up the backdoor and will report back!
Congratulations! Your credit line has been approved. Your new total credit line is $58,000.00 with a cash credit line of $17,400.00 and is available for immediate use. Use your available credit to transfer balances from other creditors online today.

simplynoir answered all of the HP and reallocation questions perfectly, so I won’t echo them. As for whether waiting 6 or 12 months between requests would have made a difference, it’s hard to tell. Until recently I’ve been getting amazing results. I had $8100 in credit lines (well, line singular) with BOA 18 months ago and $99,900 now. DW had a $25k card that went to $40k, $60k and $70 over the course of a year or so with 3 HPs. It has been a while since she asked last. Curious as to whether they will cap her to $99,900 also. Same income, but her scores are all in the low 800s right now.
Is that the only Boa card she has or does she have more? Any checking/savings or Merril Lynch?
Also I'm curious to know what was so special about the BBR since I cant find any info now?
One more data point is that since I already took the HP and BofA combines pulls within 30 days for consumer products, I went ahead and applied for the BankAmericard since it has 15mo 0% and also $0 BT fee (Awesome deal!). I have about $35k in revolving floating out there between Chase CSR and Amex HHonors, so I put in the BT for both on the application.
Good news - approved instantly
Not so great news - $16k starting limit
I think that I will call the backdoor on this new card as the 15mo BT offer would save me about $2500 in interest over the next 6mo as I pay those down.
.
I wonder if you could have gotten 26k as a SL, and then a bit more with CLI on the first one. What was the SL on the older card?
