BoA rules besides 2/3/4?

I can't really find anything besides 2/3/4, but I'm mostly concerned about hard inquiries and having opened a certain number of cards with other issuers in the last 12 months or something. I don't have any BoA cards yet, but I'll be apping for the Spirit Air MC coming up. I'll have opened 6-8 cards with other issuers within the previous 12 months, and have 7-9 hard inquiries.

Also I'll be going for Amex, Discover, then a Synchrony card after that but I don't believe those will be an issue - if I need to rethink that lemme know.

Re: BoA rules besides 2/3/4?

I got the Premium Rewards in October. Prior to approval, I think I was 6 in 6 months. The Premium Rewards was a month old at that time and there was a huge Reddit approvals thread with a common theme of denials for “gamers” or “churners.” Respondents with excellent scores 750+ and $100+ income with low utilization were being denied due to too many new accounts in 12 months.

This is purely anecdotal. It’s possible BoA temporarily changed their approval criteria because the card was a new release and they knew it would be a hit because of the SUB. I’d suggest ensuring everything within your control is optimal (utilization, any more inquiries) before giving it a go.

Amex normally takes two billing statements to post and mostly pulls EX. Synchrony has been known to post within 72 hours and mostly pulls TU. Discover typically post within 2-3 weeks and typically pulls EX/EQ but geography matters. I’m writing all this because BoA typically pulls EX for new accounts so strategy may play a factor for you.

Re: BoA rules besides 2/3/4?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Hm, I opened 2 accounts in July last year, and I'll have to wait til June-August to apply for the Spirit card anyway. With those 2 off, in the previous 12 months I'll have a personal card from Chase, one from Vantage West CU, one from Penfed, and 3 from Citi, and an additional inquiry from Chase and another from FNBO.

Along with the Spirit card, I'll be applying for the last of those three Citi cards, three with Amex, one with Discover, and one with Synchrony all practically at the same time. Between all of them the minimum spends will total $4k and I can do that so I'm just gonna swipe em up as quickly as I can.

I'm in Texas.
