I have a bank of america account that I've had for many years, I just looked and it calls it a bankamericard power rewards world mastercard.
I've had the "request a CLI" link for a while now, with a 10.5k CL on this account. What I want to do is to take them up on their offer for a SP CLI for as much as I hopefully can get, but I also want to take them up on their (lately anyway) repeated offers to apply for a new bankamericard for the sake of 15 months of 0% intro APR and 60 days of no BT fees.
My main question is can I go ahead and use the CLI link/button and try to max that out as best I can without screwing myself in planning to follow that up by applying for the BT card? Or will using their offer for a CLI hurt or prevent me from getting the second BoA card?
90% of the CL on the existing card is free now, what I'd like to do is get a CLI, get the new BT card not worrying about how much I'm approved for but it being critical that I do get approved, so I can then transfer CL from the old card to the new one.
A secondary question came to me when I looked up the name of my current card with them. Does it matter that my current card is called a "bankamericard power rewards world mastercard" and the card I want to get is just called a "bankamericard credit card?" I hope those are two different things. I've had the BoA account forever where at some point I think they converted my old card into a new one, obviously I wasn't following the market for available cards at all at that point.
Sorry if this post got long, thanks in advance for any guidance.
Ask for 100K and it will auto counter with their highesr offer. You can do this every 90 days or so until you hit your max with them.
As to adding another card to the mix... They can auto shift some of the CL on the older card to the new card to open the new account. You can also shuffle your limits by calling the backdoor number and asking them to do so.
Since they got rid of the HP 5/2018 they're much easier to manage and work with when it comes to CLI's and shuffling limits around.
Technically they're all bankamericard.... It's a "brand" for their cards vs FIA cards they manage as well for other banks. Similar to USB and Elan.
