BofA Instant Denial???

So I applied for BofA Travel Rewards credit card thinking that I had a good shot of approval. At the time, I recently applied for the AMEX ED card and Chase Freedom (about 3 days before) and was instantly approved for those. I tried for the CSP about 1 day after being approved for the Freedom, but received the dreaded 7-10 day message Smiley Sad. Really wanting a travel rewards card, since I will be traveling alot next year, I went to apply for the BofA card and was instantly denied. No counteroffer of a secured card or anything and I am wondering why.

My scores are good (all in the mid 700's and I have no bad marks on any of my reports. The average age of my accounts is about 2 years, so maybe that was why I was denied. I read somewhere that they were not inquiry sensitve, however it seems like they are.

Should I recon? or just wait until I recieve the denial letter?

They usually pull Experian. How does your Experian credit report look? That might tell you what you need to know. I'll leave it to others to answer about recon.

When I applied for the AMEX ED, Freedom, and CSP, they each pulled EX and I had 1 prior inquiry from the summer, totaling 4 inquires at the time that I applied. I was thinking that may have been the reason. Too many inquires in a short amount of time.

Yes, you should. Call underwriters directly. BofA is good with recon. They are also HP happy. Keep that i mind. Good luck.
