Interesting you guys say that about Amex. I recall when I apped online for the BCE at one point I was asked if I wanted to add another card to my application. I wasn't interested in any at the time so I didn't.
What, to apply for a different card or add an AU to the card you were currently applying for? Most creditors will ask upon application if you'd like to add an AU, helps their bottom line with swipe fees...

I thought it was for another card, but it may have been for AU and I just misunderstood. I don't remember the exact wording.

With that being said- You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink.
Everyone's familiar with that statement, but can you imagine seeing a whole bunch of people standing around the horse making fun of it and searching for new ways to be more condescending than the last guy? That's what this thread looks like to me, the new guy, who thought this forum and these members was/were better than that. You don't have to agree with someone's choices but you can definitely look much more mature based on your responses and reactions to them.
This is a forum, not a daycare.
It's one thing to admonish others because of a real wrong-doing and a different thing to do so because of misplaced commiseration. The tone of the advice given may have not been to your liking, but trust that they were offered with good intent and I'm sure others, myself included, have received great advice from the responses.
Anyway, I'm interested in seeing OP's final battle plans. I hope s/he posts the results.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think you have to wait 8 days between citi card applications and amex will normally put a second revolver app on hold for 5 days and then do another HP.
Barclay can be new account sensitive (even on accounts opened after approval) so don't be shocked if they close cards after they see the results of your spree on your CR.
With your current very thin file it is impossible to predict what this kind of spree will do to your scoresThanks for the amex and citi info I wasn't aware of that part. I'll make sure the cards I want the most out of those are apped first. I was aware of barclay being sensitive.
My credit file isn't super thin, I'd say medium. I have 18 accounts total between open and closed, all positive reporting. Multiple closed loans paid off, good mix of credit. In my 4th year of that auto loan that's almost paid off with Wells Fargo. I was estimating at least a 30 point drop, likely to be around 50 pts total, but that's okay with me if that's what happens as I'll still be above the 720 mark. Those predictions (estimates) sound reasonable?
Op, didn't you say a while back (when you were going to app for 30 cards) that you weren't going to multiple app any lenders? Just curious why the change now...

Since I was applying for significantly fewer cards, I figured a few duplicates wouldn't be as risky and I could go for cards I liked by the same issuer.
