No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I've read several places that some companies do this, such as Amex, sometimes chase, cap1...etc..
The most common one is seeing , upon approval for an AMEX CC, to ap for a charge card right away. While i wouldn't mind having multiple cards, i just don't see a need for a charge card, i dont want to have to PIF every month. Could i just app for another cc and have it still use the same pulls?
Also with Chase and cap1, if i get declined for CSP, i intend to app for a freedom as well. That SHOULD be just the inquiries from the CSP correct? Because if i get declined for the CSP i've been told to try one of the cobranded cards and they'll use the same pulls. I just don't get whats to stop one from opening 3 cards from one issuer off all the same pulls?
I'm pretty sure i've also read that someone opened a venture, then a venture one off the same three pulls.
All these are a YMMV thing. Not set in stone when it comes to the pulls. CAP 1 seems to be using the same pulls if done minutes apart but others have reported getting fresh set of pulls also.
It all comes down to if you want to spare hardpulls...
SO literally all of them? I shouldn't be surprised if i get Decliend for CSP and then app for a cobranded chase card, and get a hardpull for it? Thats unfortunate. But i guess i'll still give it a shot. I'll be buried in the garden for a year by default. So i guess i'll give it a shot. Stay tuned for tuesday's data points!

When I app'd with Amex, I went for the Green card first (approved), and a few minutes later I went for the BCP (also approved). They were both from a single HP for me, but this isn't technically 'guaranteed'... but it seems to be the experience of most folks on here.
I didn't try to app for a second credit card, but other folk on here have reported that while the web interface will let you get a charge and a credit back-to-back on one HP, if you try for two credit products you'll get an error on the second application (it won't be insta-approved) and they will manually push it through a few days later, with an additional hard pull. Again, I have no experience here but several folks have all said the exact same thing, and I tend to believe them.
I'm not one to advocate 'churning', but many folks get the PRG to use for a year to see how it will fit with their spending (no AF the first year). It has an attractive sign up bonus, and you can app for it the same day as one of the credit products. Had I been aware of the benefits back in the Spring, I would have got it instead of the Green... ![]()

Yeah pass. I'm definitely not the guy that's catered to for charge cards. I guess I just won't have two AMEX CC's for a while....not that I'm even sure if I'd need a second one as BCE/BCP seem awesome. Just have to decide which one(and if I'd get approved for BCP)
I might still double app for Venture tho bc of the high SL.
Anyone have an idea how to tell when chase prequals expire? It's still showing, I just font want it to vanish in the next 36 hours
As long as your report is the same, it won't expire- Chase Pre-equal. The BCP is a very good card. The Venture also. Whatever you do, report back with results.

Awesome. Great to know. Yeah the report won't change much at all really. Balances going down about 50 dollars, student loan went up 2000, but that yielded no change in EX, Cap1 increased a limit by 500. Realistically nothing changed.
I'll definitely be back to (hopefully) gloat Tuesday midday. I'll likely just reup a thread I have before about what cards to app for.
Scared to app for the BCP vs BCE haha. I'll probably chicken out and just go BCE.
Buckle up.. The credit game is not for the faint of heart - see blue. If it is the BCP you yearn for, go for it. Go big or go home. Looking forward to seeing results.![]()

I agree with this... I didn't think Amex would approve me for anything; I actually applied expecting a decline that would get me a free credit report... LOL.
I was approved for the BCP with an EX of 695 and a previous account that was IIBK back in 2000. I honestly believe the approval for the BCP and the BCE is likely identical; the only difference in the two is the AF and the level of rewards. Most people believe the same applies to the Green/PRG/Platinum... if you're approved for one, you would likely be approved for one of the others since the risk is the same credit-wise. It's just the benefits and the AF are different.
If you want the BCP, you should apply for the BCP. If you do and for some reason it isn't approved, you likely wouldn't have been approved for the BCE either.
Just my 2¢.
