Had about 800 in revolving debt on about 3 credit cards. Paid that down and my reports reflected 250, experian score went up 30+ points to a whopping 692, and transunion went up to 719!!! with these new scores i decided to once again try my luck with the Chase Freedom. Got the dreaded 7-10 day review. And an e-mail following that said that my application would be reviewed and i would be notified within 30 days..... ughhhh The one last bank i really care to get in with, and they just wont budge!! no baddies on my report at all, but new to credit and i know how Chase likes thicker files, and not to much recent stuff, but dang! lol
Give them a call on Monday to get a faster answer, be prepared to recon.
no worries many people (including myself) had to go through this.
my experian fico was around 780 and income around 200k and still had to go through verification and whatever crapshoot they had. I eventually gave up after 1 and half week of no updates from them.
I didn't have much patience for them. So I guess you should wait it out. But do call them and ask for updates.
I can't seem to find an automated phone number.

Chase is just one of those PITA lenders.
I'm 6 years out of BK13 with less than a year to go until everything falls off my CRs... and have never had a Chase product and can't get approved. I even reconned and requested a $500 Freedom just to "get my foot in the door."
Nope... they cite my BR as reasons for denial.
But yet other lenders have given me $5k-$10k cards.
I have no doubt by this time next year I'll be flooded with Chase offers.
888-338-2586 - automated
888-245-0625 - recon number
Call the recon number!!
when you call the automated line and it says 14 days not 7-10 day but, 14 you then are probaly approved. atleast thsts been my bexperience. anybody else on this?

As others mentioned, it could very well be just Verification/manual review.
Happened to me for my new IHG account recently even though I have 4 other Chase cards.
