As we all know all along that a request for CLI could be made every 31 days on Macy's credit card....I handle my sister's accounts for many years, and yesterday I applied for CLI on her Macy's card which I have been doing anyway since account opened...like requesting for CLI in every 60 days ....but this time I requested after 89 days later....System stated that I would hear back from them within 7-10 days...However, I got the email this morning to let me know that its denied for asking CLI very soon when request was made after 89 days later while one could ask for CLI every 31 days later....So, it is seemed obvious that Macy's has now changed their policy in this respect....From 31 days to now seems to be either 90 days or perhaps 180 days....
I would try to request for CLI on my sister's account a few days when it would be 100 from the last increase...and if it would be denied again then I would request for 4 months or 6 months intervals...I am sure that its not anymore at 31 days intervals as it was for the last many years....Has anyone has recent experience in this respect?
Yes. It took 7 months to get a bump from $1500 to $5000. It's been over 3 months and I was denied another bump. I'm going to wait until it's been 6 or 7 months to ask for another. The message keeps saying insufficient time for review.

As you said that even after 3 months later you were denied then did you try or would try on 4, or 5 or 6 months later to see if it allows CLI after 4 months like many banks do? I got the same response- "insufficient time for review"...even though CLI was asked after 89 days later...Anyway, I would try 95 days later and then 4 months later especially CLI is a SP anyway. But no doubt that Macy's CLI is no longer every 31 days as it used to be until a few months back....
I applied about a year and a half ago and was insulted with the $1,500 limit. I used it month one for the SUB, then lightly here and there, PIF each month. @ 3months asked for CLI, NO. At 6 months with little to no use, asked for CLI, YES...$2,500. 12 months...put a $7,000 sofa in my cart...YES $7,500. And now lastly today - 18 months in, still with little to no use, I put the $11,600 sofa in my cart and YES...CLI to $10k, *** I do not know if the sofas in my cart had anything to do with anything, but I figured it could not hurt and I am two for two on respectable CLI's.
I have ideal credit worthiness. My scores today 816/799/792 ...12%utilization...$106k income. I still do not believe that I should have to work that **bleep** hard for a low limit of $10k. Citi has tight underwriting criteria or something.

I got approved for this card for $4k SL more than two years back....After 35 days later I requested CLI and asked for $15k, but I got $10k increase...and then another 35 days later I got $10k...So, I have $24k CL on this card and in the 20 months I have not applied for any credit limit until January of this year when I asked only for $1k CLI which I got it...So now total CL on this card is $25k...I asked for another CLI in March of this year which is 3 months later of my last increase (in January 2026) but they denied by saying that its too early from the last review...I requested CLI just to test if they have changed their policy of CLI because various resources are indicating that they have unlike before when people were easily getting CLI every 31 days...
This card was the easiest one to reach $25k within so short time which could increase your score and total CL...but not anymore...They have changed all this easy thing...I tried another CLI just last week and got the same response that its too early from the last review....So, it seems to me that they now entertain CLI request only after 9+ months later from your last increase....Its based on my own data points because I got last increase in January of this year which 6 months ago and still they are stating that its too early...So, definately CLI policy have changed. The Bloomingdale's credit card is one more card they issue wherein the same thing...meaning CLI used to get every 31 days...but not anymore...I have that card as well with $25k CL...These both cards run on Amex payment network.
That's annoying! Are you going to try again soon to experiment?
I have had the Macys AMEX for just under two years and drove the CL up to $20k where I seemed to have hit a wall about a year ago. Based on this thread I asked tonight for a $5k increase and it was instantly approved bringing my CL from $20k to $25k. I think my historical high balance has been about $3800. Thanks for the tips.
Congratulations...You asked and received CLI a year or more later from your last CLI....However, please know that this thread is not about getting CLI at any time and how much, rather its about providing datapoint as to the timeframe when one could be able to get CLI from this bank on this card....In the past people used to get CLI on every 31 days from their last CLI, but that seems to have changed now....given my timeline and datapoint alone, its not even possible to get CLI from this bank on this card in even 6 months from the last CLI....I got last CLI on January of this month, and did try 3 months later which rejected, and then even 6 months later which got rejected as well by stating that its too early to get another review. So, next time I would try for CLI in 9 months (in September of this year) from the last increase just for the datapoint, and if it would get the same result (rejection) then I would try a year later from the last increase which would be Jaunary of next year...Again, just for the datapoint to see when now they offer CLI after last increase.....Definately, things have changed now unlike in the past when everyone could be able to get CLI on every 31 days from their last increase....

Yeah, not only for the experiment but also for the datapoint.
Yes I was not clear. I previously asked for a CLI every 31 days until I reached a wall where they would not go above 20k. So now a year later they approved for $25k. So I mean to say simply not to give up on additional CLIs once you receive a denial.
