Bummer. I've read about people requesting a cli before the card even comes in the mail so I decided to try it today. Called up credit solutions over and synchrony. Requested 5k - which would be my highest card.
I was hoping they'd counter if they couldn't do the 5k but she just said they couldn't approve me for the increase and they'll send a letter in 7-10 bus days explaining why.
Oh well. I'm happy with my credit lines right now, I was just hoping I might get lucky!
I feel your pain. I've tried to get a higher limit on every Sync card I've applied for right off the bat and it's always a "no." I guess it's a YMMV type thing. I've stopped trying and figure they'll let me know when they are ready to extend more credit. lol
It sure was true that people used to be able to get big CLI's right off the bat, but as of late Synchrony has been tightening it's purse strings, perhaps the days of huge CLI's from synchrony are over, at least for the time being.
