Since this is a less discussed card I will add my datapoints during the application and hopefully approval process.
I found out a couple days ago that CNB is owned by RBC. I bank with RBC in Barbados and am good friends with the VP of wealth management in Barbados.
I asked him for a referral and was connected to a branch manager in the San Diego area.
Spoke with her this afternoon to start the application process.
Asked her about having an income of less then 100K. Masters student with a full time job.
She said they don’t look for high income but rather care about DTI.
She asked for DL and most recent paystubs as proof during the application.
No other documents have been required thus far.
Asked income, deposit balances and liquid assets (stocks, bonds) didn’t care about retirement accounts.
No questions on debt either, but I assume they gather that from the credit report.
Stats provided:
Income 75K
Liquid assets : 45K + 15K in RBC Barbados but she didn’t think she could use the foreign assets even though it’s in RBC wealth management. She put it on the application though.
Debt :
$385 car loan monthly (fiancée’s but I cosigned)
$800 rent (half the amount of my actual rent)
$11,000 on a charge card but it’s already been paid but still showing on CR.
They already pulled my credit (experian)

Will update as details become available. They said they were quite backed up as today is the last day of the 50K bonus. To expect a 3-5 day wait and should have the card within 8-10 days.
