So I have a total of five cards. Getting ready to close Credit One, which will bring me to four.
I have two cards with Barclay. The rewards card and the Apple card. Both have pretty low limits of $1,300 and $1,700. Paid every month on time, some small payments, some large, just depends. Both pretty close to their limits though. I pressed luv button on the rewards card online and got the message that I'll get a letter in 7-10 days. Called backdoor number from here, spoke with a rep, and he looked everything over, and approved my increase. I asked for $4,000 he countered with $2,000. So now they're $2,000 and $1,700.
Should I try for a cli on the apple card, or will that anger the powers that be at Barclay and end up backfiring? I've seen a lot of concerns with them decreasing and closing accounts for any reason, so I don't want to do that. I also know that in order to get scent limits eventually, I have to ask for them.
My thought is to tell them I'm planning to close the credit one account and want to transfer that balance of around $600 but I would need an increase in order to do that. My fear is that they will say they just raised the limit by $700 on the other account and to transfer it to that one..
id try the luv button first for the other and then call if you have to.
sometimes the computer gives more than the people and sometimes the people give more than the computer... just never know.
How long have you had both cards and what were your scores, then and now?
was it a hardpull?
I know this post is old but I'm also curious what scores were at time of approval and CLI. OP signature is low to mid 600's and I thought Barclay cards were more difficult to get then something like Cap 1 Quicksilver one. I was just approved for Quicksilver one with $1000 limit but I would love to have a Barclays apple account. Wondering if I should give it try since I can't seem to get a CLI on my other Cap 1 platinum acct which has been at $500...wait for it....for 9 years! Yes, cap 1 gives me a new act with twice the limit but denies me even a $200 increase on my platinum card.
I buy a lot of apple products and I would love to sock drawer the cap 1 platinum since I can't seem to grow that card. Any good experiences with Barclay Apple approvals?

I believe, since CCMP shows nothing yet, it was a SP

I sure can't figure out Barclays. I have the Rewards card but, denied, denied, denied for every other card, Arrival, Apple, etc etc etc
I was honestly surprised when they gave me a $1140 CLI!

I was approved for the NFl card last week with scores at around of 630. $1500 limit. Got the 7-10 day message then got my approval email yesterday. YMMV but go ahead and app for it... No idea if the NFL card is easier to get than other Barclay cards however
Very nice.. Good job!!
Congrats. I love Barclays. Some complain about them, but they've been good to me.
