I took your advice (you all are frigging AWESOME), and got in touch with Cap One's EO. I spoke to a nice man who wanted to know my reason for calling. I told him that I am interested in having the annual fees removed going forward after 5 years as a customer. He asked for my 2 account numbers and promptly removed them...FOREVER. Great! So then he asked if I needed anything else. I told him I was interested in a CLI to $5K on both cards (current limits are $750 and $850). He asked about a partial increase. I said yes and he asked some questions and told me it may take up to a week for a response.
Here are my questions:
1. My 2 current cards are Classic Platinum Mastercards. I really want a PC to a rewards card like QS. Should I use the chat function to request the PC?
2. Should I wait until I hear back from EO before trying for a PC?
3. If I could only get a PC to a card with an AF, will the AF removal done by EO no longer work?
Thanks in advance for any help with this situation. I want to try to get these Cap One accounts to grow with my improved credit, since they are my oldest cards (5+ years).
You can see if your cards are eligible for PC'ing online, without chatting if you want.
Log into the Capital One site and hover over the Accounts tab. Choose Modify My Features. Click on Your Feature (purple button) and it will tell you if you're eligible.

My QS started out as a Platinum card in the Credit Steps program. About 3 months after it graduated I checked online for any upgrades available and nothing showed up. I went on chat and asked about a PC and was offered an upgrade to the QS with no AF. So if the online check doesn't show anything, try going to chat. It worked for me.

that dang button never do anything for me, i always get "we're sorry... No offers are currently available blah blah blah", but when I chat and ask, I get upgrades I need.
