Cap 1 APR But No Prequal

Hi guys and gals,
I have a quick question. So I have two Discover (one sec and the other unsecured), Capital One secured, Kohls, etc. My Cap1 is about 2 months old now and I was on their site today and tried the prequal and it couldnt match anything for me (probably bc my acct is so new still), BUT, it did offer me the platinum and QS with solid APR of 17.49 variable. Does this sound like I got a shot at the QS card to you guys? I heard if it is a range like 13.99% - 26.99% then it us a 50/50 shot. Let me know what you guys think.

BTW, I LOVE THIS FORUM AND ALL THE EXPERTISE IN HERE. A YEAR AGO TODAY I WAS IN THE MID 400'S - TODAY 603-612 FICO 8'S. MY REBUILD HAS BEEN STRONG. A YEAR PLUS OF NEW ACCOUNTS WITH 100% ONTIME PAYMENTS.

Hi, I think it is better to wait for the pre-qualified message to get a better chance (mostly guarantee) to be approved even if there is a message offering you to apply for another card(s).

Benreily - Thank You. Yeah I think thats what I will do, not worth the 3 hard pulls for a "possibility". I have worked too hard to get my scores up. Sound advice my friend, thank you again.

I am not sure how secured cards fit in but my understanding is that Capital One only approves one application every six months now.  If that is true, you are very smart to avoid the unnecessary HPs.

Re: Cap 1 APR But No Prequal

Thank you. I have to say it feels great to be able to join the rest of the population and have decent credit for the first time ever. Funny side note: I actually was going to use a credit repair service amd decided not to. I MADE myself learn the FCRA and FDCPA inside and out and forced myself to deal with past creditors like a **bleep** adult lol. In seven months I have written around 75 to 80 professional letters to creditors and bureaus - sometimes straight through the night studying laws and stuff. It was my punishment to myself. I knew if I paid someone to do it for me I would never take my credit serious bc I didnt do the work myself.

Your guys input on all my questions is so appreciated and so valuable. Signing up for MyFICO and stumbling on this forum seven to eight months ago was a true blessing. A million thank you's....

That's a great message. I hope you share it multiple times on this board.
