Just tried myself and got a 2K increase. Less than what I was expecting, but decent by Cap1 standards. So try again!

Make it your everyday card. That is what I did last year after nearly a year of CLI denial. I cheated though. My Grandma shops a lot so I would use my Venture card for her purchases and she would write me a check!
