Re: Cap 1 Venture question..Is it a full moon?

I'm living vicariously through all of you. It's difficult to stay in the garden with $20000 limits being handed out. But, I'm waiting for the next duck card to come out before I seriously consider leaving the garden.

Re: Cap 1 Venture question..Is it a full moon?

This is my take on what's going on at Capital One:

The leadership sat down and devised a strategy to grow the company over the next few years or become a stronger bank overall.  With that being said, they have decided to take their prime product(Venture) and offer higher limits.  As the saying goes,"scared money makes no money".   So you have a card that requires you to spend x amount of dollars minimum in order to get the bonus.  Multiply that by the number of approvals, number of individuals who will carry a balance and so on?

It's obvious that Capital One is flush with cash.  And they are using that cash to grow.  Now this is all conjecture and could be nothing more than squat?  But, I suspect that like the Fed, they understand(finally) that lossening the reigns and letting things fly is the only way to become competitive and grow the company?

All they have to do now is retrain their Customer Service staff, decrease their overseas CS staff and upgrade their other product mix.

Re: Cap 1 Venture question..Is it a full moon?

I had dinner, went ou t and drank and no drapp for cap1 for me... If I survived applying last night, I know I won't apply.. It is weird, even if they gave me say a 15k limit, I would never use the venture card other then utilization.  Cap1 needs a more attractive line-up of cards.  The QS is a great cash back card, maybe the best in the business the rest are all meh to me.  Anyways long story short no app for this kid.  I dont think i saw one from Yep or Nixon either

That part sounds so easy, but it will never happen with Cap1 imo...  They would be wise to bring back their CSR to this country, but won't happen.

Imagine trying to call the back of your cap1 card for concierge service..Execuse me can you make me reservations at X restaurant..  They would be, like come again..  Try that on your CSP and they would do itSmiley Happy.. Granted, never used this service.

I agree with CAP 1 CSR. Concierge is nice although I hardly ever used it.  Even, my car - Infiniti comes with concierge services like really... So it will be nice for CAP1 to get on board.
