Cap 1 more documents needed.

I applied for a Cap 1 card the platinum version and I got the you are almost approved we just need some documents. I uploaded the documents just curious on what to expect? It is a approval or a denial? Fico is around 507 TransUnion. They wanted ID and W2.

Fico score are border line if they ask for your W 2 then you have a good chance getting approved but most likly a very low limit and will be bucketed. Again good luck.

If your app matches income on your W2 and they accept your verification then its pretty good that you will be approved, if they were going to deny they would have done it right away and saved themselves the extra work to verify what you put down.

So I got the email saying Capital one was unable to approve the application. I get a letter in 7 to 10 days with the reasons why as required by federal law. I have a Discover It secured on its way to me. I will just just stick to the Discover Secured card grow it and go in the garden. I am sure Discover will treat me well.

@CFM  Do right by Disco and they will do right by you. Use it a lot, pay a few times a month, leave a low balance or zero balance, run it up close to limit and pay it off etc.

I helped my friend get one and it stated his card would be reviewed in 8 months. He started with a 300 dollar deposit.

At 8 months Disco unsecured the card and sent his 300 dollar deposit to his bank. Disco also increased his limit to 1500 dollars.

They just increased that limit to 2200 dollars. (9 months later) so in less than a year and a half he went from secured 300 to unsecured 2200.

Not a bad start with them.

Re: Cap 1 more documents needed.

Thank you. I did call Cap 1 after getting the letter and just becuase I accidenlty typed my last name as my first name  first name as my last name I was declined. I called and ask for a review on that grounds alone since that is the sole reason for the denial.  I wasted double pull on the app so I dont want to let it go so fast once I found out the reasons.  If they still denied after review then i wont re apply.
