Checked and still getting the blah offers. I didn't think 2 inquiries could throw off a prequal so quickly. Cap1 is usually so inq friendly.
I know they tend to have less of an impact after 12 months but what about 3 or 6? No baddies to speak of except a 30 day late from March 2013... possibly a 60 day from April 2013 (fighting Acura on that) but the car loan is paid off as of April 2013. You can see other info on my siggy or reading my earlier posts. When I mouseover the see if your prequalififed link a balloon pops open that says "Get back in the garden!"
Oh I hear ya, I'm afraid to do anything more at this point! And then I'm worried if I don't.
A lot of suggestions are stating wait 3 - 6 months. I'm still learning a lot and wondering... would I be better off apping
now because Cap1 seems finicky. Will those new accounts look better considering I stay below 9 % and good standing... or worse because I have several new accounts opened within a year. I mean what the chances are I won't see those prequals again. Urgh.
Take a word of advice from someone who just racked up all the inq's in my siggy and stop. Stop while you can. If a unique opportunity presents itself, you don't want to kick yourself because you rolled the dice and got denied something good and then have no choice but to wait 2 years. It sucks.
No you're absolutely right and I appreciate your help and insight. I'm here to learn and help others any way I can. ![]()
I think I'm just excited and disappointed at the same time. I'm kicking myself since I could of app'd and Chase probably would of only seen the inquiries on EX since the accounts would if been so new. Plus seeing a prequal for the higher ended cards compared to where I was is also exciting as I'm sure you know.
I may still get denied for the CSP anyway, but that doesn't mean I can't try again in 3 months... in fact, any ideas if 3 months will look better for me especially since I'll be keeping util down to 9 % on only one card?
I just hope that the prequals will return.. those were my lowest aprs. They would of been I mean.

All 3 of my CR's show a "Recenently seeking credit" flag. I suspect that once that goes away any future approval might have a better chance unless the creditors are looking at the number of inq's. Truth be known, I am not too sure how all that works. I was just excited to be getting approve and got a couple of cards I didnt really need.
Oh I totally understand! It feels great to finally get prequals and offers. I wanted to get all my HP's out of the way I should of just done it.
Recently seeking credit... hmm I've never heard of it before so I can honestly say I have no idea. I'm gonna look that up. ![]()
I have been kind of obsessing about why my prequals disappeared/changed. Obviously it could of been my 2 HPs hence my fico score dropping. It's just driving me nuts because I want to understand so badly.
Inquiries don't seem to be sensitive issue for some companies as you know.. including Cap1. I've read sooo many posts where inquiries were out the roof. Of course then it depends on the overall file. So much to learn!!

It's cool. I have cards I use more anyways.
I have 2 Q1's that they won't PC. Soon as the second one hit the year mark next month, I'm going to hit the love button, combine into one then sock drawer it goes!!
You also might check each card and see if there is a 12 or 18 month 0% BT on one of the cards before you combine. If you do have one I would suggest combining them into that one and you will have a nice 0% BT card..
Hmmm!! Thanks for this information. I will definitely check into that!

Why did you apply for Fingerhut? Lol!!!
Just found out I have fraud alerts on my reports so I'm sure that's why I dont see prequals
Okay so I checked on the SP's, wasn't as expensive as I thought and decided it was good to have some fresh reports with those listed anyway.
My last Soft Pulls from Cap1 are showing as of 02/12. They are also showing 02/10, 02/09, 02/08, 02/07 and 02/04. This data is from EQ and EX, and the dates match as far as those pulls go from that bracket.
Transunion is showing 02/06 and 02/04, 08/01/15 and 07/01/15.
I've been checking the Cap1 pre-qual pretty much every day since Feb 7th.
I didn't app for Chase and AmEx till 02/15. Unless SP's are instant, which I believe they are.. then those pre-quals going off immediately checked SP's is possibly wrong. On the 12th my CR's were clean and the only hit I've taken is on EX with the 2 recent HP's from Chase and AmEx.
So... it makes me wonder what type of system they are using.
02/07 I was pre-qualified for QS1 and the Platinum.
02/08 - 02/15 I was pre-qualified for the QS and Venture. (1 or 2 days in there I may not have checked the site...)
02/16 I was pre-qualified for the QS1 and Platinum.
Yeah it doesn't make any sense. All of my reports were correct as of the 4th with everything in order, nothing changed till 02/15.. and that's just those HP's. Like I stated before since I believe SP's are instant, if they are going off the last SP.. 02/12 then there should of been no change.
I hope this helps as a data point. I do have many other SP's both on EQ and EX from Cap1 and if anyone likes I'd be happy to post screenies or the text data here for review. They've pulled from my CR's quite a bit (except for TU) and if they are going off older SP's it can technically be any one of those.
SP's I show for Cap One:
1/19 on EQ (no other SP's since 11/2015 and before)
No SP's on EX
No SP's on TU
