Re: Cap1 denial, should I ask for a recon?

My mistake! Thanks. I assumed (I know, I know) by their letter saying I could write this address that that was their offer to recon. I figured I could provide my bank information (to an extent) so they could possibly approve me. I'll leave it be then. Smiley Happy

Well there is certainly nothing wrong with trying the EO route. A frontline CSR Recon is a no go though. I'd try the Recon at EO and see what happens before you waste another triple pull by reapplying, they may do another triple pull at the EO level though if they decide to take up your case. If you do decide to reapply, I'd wait at least 30 days and try again, best of luck, hope it works out in your favor one way or the other.

Re: Cap1 denial, should I ask for a recon?

I sent in a letter to the address on my denial letter over a week ago. I got to poking around online today and came across capital's secured funding page. For s... And giggles under customer number I put in the 17 digit number on my denial letter, then my zip and last four of ssn. It took me to a page saying I had until may 6th to fund my card. 80 days back from that date is the date I applied. Either they reconsidered and I got it, or their system allows anyone that's applied for a card to fund a card?? Not sure. I didn't fund anything, since I don't yet know if I have it. Thoughts?

I see their point, though I've done fine w/o either and could easily pay them w/o either. Regardless, I got them. I'll send a letter, like they say to do, asking for a recon.

You can't really pay them without checking or savings account, they state in their terms the only payments they accept by mail are checks, and phone/web are ACH checking or savings.

Re: Cap1 denial, should I ask for a recon?

Creditguy - I successfully recommend a denial exactly a year ago thri the EO
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

Re: Cap1 denial, should I ask for a recon?

Minor update. So they did a hard pull across all three on Feb 28/Mar 1. Automated phone still says under review.

But today I took my 17 digit app ID and went to the secured funding site. It now says I need to fund by May 21st and 80 days back from that is March 2nd (you have 80 days from application to fund a secured card through them). And it now says I need to fund at least $49 for a $200 limit. That last part is new, it wasn't on there earlier this week! 👍 Hoping this means I'm approved and didn't waste a hard pull on the recon.
