Not sure what it is with Capital One but I have tried for 2 years now to get a small CLI on my Quicksilver card and there like nope every time. I have a small $500 CL and no outstanding debits with CO, a current car loan and a previous paid off car loan through them. I also have used the card a lot sometimes $200-450 a month and then I cut full statement payoff each time. It is what it is I guess anyone else ever get lucky with these guys? it's not going to break me not to get the CLI but it would give it a bit more flexibility and I wouldn't mind the extra cushion on my UT.
Join a credit union and build with them..Cap1 likes giving SubPrime limits high apr and small cli..credit unions will usually treat you better

CapOne is notorious for permanently bucketing cards, particularly those opened with little credit or poor credit. I had CapOne cards for over 20 years and never received a single CLI despite a squeaky clean credit history and excellent scores.
If you hit the lottery for millions, try again, they might give you one.
Just SD that "bucketed" card!
It's a guarantee that hell freezes over first before CO bucketed cards get a raise!
If you must have a higher line then app for a new card either from CO themselves or from another lender.
Good luck.

Just like K, my Cap1 cards don't get any CLI love so I stopped asking.
My other accounts are 10X+ higher...but 20 years ago when my credit was crap, they approved me and now those accounts are amongst my oldest...helping in my AAoA and AoOA.
If you SD them to help your aging like me, just remember to use them a few times a year. They need to see some activity. Buy a tank of gas, pay it off the next day and put it back to sleep.
The only things useful about capital one are their 360 checking and savings accounts.
Other than getting denied for CLI's, how can you tell if your card is bucketed? And is it true that you can only have 2 cards from them(excluding business cards)?
Edit: the reason they give for denial is too many recent inquiries, which I'm guessing is from getting a car from a dealership in November.

There's no way to tell directly that I'm aware of, but if your card started as one of their subprime cards, had a < $1k SL, and hits a wall with CLI, then it's probably bucketed. You can only have 2 of their subprime cards (Plat, QS1, or secured), but you can have 5 cards with them total, business or personal.

Cap One seems anymore is chiefly one of those starter type Lenders which happens is useful for rebuilding and establishing a new or rebuilding effort for the first 12-24 months or more IMHO. Aside from that it depends on the customer if they wish to ride it out with them or not. I just scrubbed my credit reports of a only 2 Cap One cards obtained for rebounding and rebuilding. Quicksilver & Kohl's.
