Sorry about CA!! I thought It was easy for you. My brother got the card three months ago. He got approved for $500 with 650 EQ FICO.

Ron.

Bummer!

See, look at it from the brightside based on the above outcome, no rant on the forums with receving an approval of anywhere from $300 - $600!!  Smiley Tongue  I mean, yes it may be a WEMC but how useful would it be for you in the long run?

Funny that I get a CLI on my Venture same day they decline this card!

I noticed that too.

You probably remember my ordeal with this card back in 2014 and i ended up closing it at the 1 year mark. After 2 tries past 6 months couldn't buy a penny CLI with 2 HP's on EQ and thru the EO for it.

However with their high end cards though it's been the difference between night and day and exact opposite results.

Did they HP for CLI CM7?

Re: Capital One GM Declined

You probably would've gotten a $500 credit line like my DW, which you would had to close down since you're getting rid of your cards with less than a 5k credit line. So I say you did good Smiley Tongue

Was approved for a Freedom 2 months ago for a $2000 SL. Then got a mailer last month from Citi inviting me to apply for a DC. Took that as a good sign and went for it and got the DC with $1800 starting line. I know these are fairly small limits but I'm finally getting invites to the big boys so I feel like the rebuild is finally going somewhere. Then a pre-approval comes in for this GM card the other day and my son just turned 16 so I was thinking maybe the rewards would come in handy down the road a bit if he starts doing better in school and show me he deserves a car.

I already have two Cap Ones with decent limits and I researched  it on here briefly and saw that there were some low starting lines but also some some decent ones so I went for it.

$300.

For the first time ever in all the apps, approvals and turn downs I've ever got I actually got angry and closed the browser before picking my card style. Not angry at the card or the bank but angry at myself for getting sucked up in the fever of apping and approvals. Gonna be hard to make this a go-to card and get points with that limit.

Anyway, I would have rather just taken the pull and been turned down than have $300 limit new account. You're AAoA is probably indestructible though.

the number for the GM card in the backdoor goes to credit and they have a little more play with lines I think than regular Cap1 reps... give them a call and see about recon the limit... they are a tough one... my partner was declined for to many new accounts in last 6 months (6) despite is 770-795 fico depending which report.

Excellent point OP.  Sometimes, regardless of the offer, and given the trends and outcomes with certain products, it's best to pass up on things like these (unless of course a profile supports a pretty decent approval).  But then again, the rewards structure for this card is not going to be anything stellar for the average consumer.
