Capital One Prequalified offer

I recently check my prequalified offer fro Cap1, upon checking, saying Congratulations! You're qualified for Cap1 platinum and quicksilver 1. I already have quicksilver1, Do you think If I applied for it will I get a get a good starting limit? I don't wanna get a low limit $500. any suggestions?  thanks

Re: Capital One Prequalified offer

By looking at the limits you have on your pre-existing cards I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to get at least $1,000. If it's less than what you'd like you can always call to recon.

Re: Capital One Prequalified offer

Just because you're not pre-qulified doesn't mean you'll be denied. Sometimes it takes the hardpull to get that approval. Cap1 is usually pretty easy to get approved for. I don't know your credit report info or your scores so I can't offer much advice, but if you can afford the hardpull it may be worth a shot. And if you're denied you can always recon that.

Like Inutown said, it's hard for me to guess on the Venture without knowing your scores.  Based on your profile, I'd guess you'd have a decent shot.  I got the QS and QS1 without being pre-approved for anything, if that helps.  Venture or Venture one are likely to be my next app after recent reading, so I'll be interested in hearing what you decide.

Re: Capital One Prequalified offer

When you checked the pre-qual site, what type of credit did you say you had? Try it again and check the excellent box. That's how I got my venture to pop up.

I got my venture1 and QS Visa with a cold app. I think Venture uses fico 04 and QS fico 08 score. You're 08 above is way better than mine was when I applied.

Re: Capital One Prequalified offer

Looking at your Signature and scores, I would go for a platinum MC with Cap1. I think you would probably get the Venture. a lot of people have sucess with cold apps and cap1. I dont but that's because I have a lot of their cards already. Someone with only 1-2 cards and good scores and good profile, you can probably get the approval without being preapproved. Otherwise, hold out for the Venture offer. U dont want to accumulate too many generic cap1 cards.

Re: Capital One Prequalified offer

Many have been approved for Venture with lower scores, so you might be approved, especially if your income is strong enough.
There is certainly no reason to apply for yet another lower level Capital One card, so don't waste your time or the HP's.
