One of the posts I read mentioned a higher likelihood of approval if you are pre-approved for the regular Venture. Is there anyone who can corroborate this, especially for someone who has a lot of revolving accounts?
Not an easy card to get. Could you add how many accounts/your util%/FICO Scores/Income? More info helps on your odds for approval.
I am obviously not every case but I was preapproved for nothing but secured cards when I applied (no idea why). I was still instantly approved for $20k and was approved for a 10k CLI after 4 months and was given a random 1k recently. I think the Venture X is off in a weird little world of its own at Cap1.

You're probably more of the type of customer they want somebody who possibly will pay the interest rate, but will not go bk on them remember cap one has a history with the subprime market

I don't carry balances and have scores around 800.

It worked for me but I only have 4 revolving accounts. 1 new acct within the past 6 months & 2 within the past 12 months. I was approved for the lowest credt line & highest apr so probably a marginal approval. EQ 706.

I have about 20 or so revolving accounts. I PIF with 1-3% util with FICO scores in high 700s-low 800s. Income > $100K. I did do the pre-approval check which showed Venture and Venture One so am wondering if it is possible I MIGHT get approved. Already got rejected for USB Altitude Reserve for too many revolving accounts and maximum unsecured credit.... ![]()
