Capital One pulling scores from months ago!

Hello everyone, first post here. I'm not sure if this has been brought up before but I am having an issue with Capital one when i apply for a CLI. I keep getting declined with the reasoning being a low credit score. Mind you three months ago my scores were mid 500's and now they're well above 640. As i look at the date from when they are pulling up my credit report, its from back in September of this year!. I tried calling but the reps say they get thier scores whenever the credit burea gives it to them, which i find confusing as i just got approved for a Savor card with them which is for good credit. I'm trying to raise my limits on all my cards  to lower my utl but with them constantly pulling from my old scores its a no go.

Anybody else run into this problem and if so did you find any wrok arounds? Thanks.

CLI decisions being based on scores that are a few months old isn't unusual in the industry.  They're just using the last account review soft pulls they did on you.   The only real workaround is to wait a few months for them to refresh to your current scores.

To add on and not to be rude but a 640 is considered low to fair credit, so they may be considering your 640 as low to them. Try to bump that up above 700 and use the card often with pif and you'll likely yield better results

Where are you looking for this info? Is it from a full credit report with soft pull data in it? If that’s the case just wait for the next occasional review performed by them, then apply for that CLI. Considering you score has improved of course.

Look on the bright side, if your scores to down, you can wait a month or two and benefit from old, higher scores.

Btw, did they say your scores had anything with the disaporoval? For me, it's always something else, lack of use, too many recent accounts, low turd score...
