So I have two cards with Cap1, QS and Saks WEMC. I called for the the SAKs CLI request, and it was denied. Just paid off the card, $0 bal
i then went to the web site for Cap1 for the QS request (it had been 6 months) and just paid off that as well. They declined it as well, and since they post the letter online within a day, i wanted to check out the reason....here is what the letters stated:
"A credit limit increase is currently not available upon request because Capital One is evaluating account activity at assigned credit limits."
I have heard CAP 1 is tightened the belts a bit on CLIs, and looking at credit usage.
My DPs: all socres at 750s, AAoA 4 years, UTL is below 10% (prob around 8 now)

It's been my experience that Cap1 uses old info for CLI requests, typically 6-10 weeks. So it's likely if you were previously showing highg utilization, that might have factored into the decision as well.
You can find the date of the report used on your rejectection letter.
nothing on the letter that indicates a date (other than the one at the top of the letter)

I just checked some of my rejection letters and I see they are no longer adding the score and date pulled. This is what it used to look like:
INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CREDIT SCORE
We also requested your credit score to make our credit decision. Your credit score is a number that reflects the
information in your credit report. Your credit score can change, depending on how the information in your
credit report changes. If you have questions about this specific credit score, please contact the consumer
reporting agency at the address or telephone number provided.
Your Credit Score 668 Date: 2018-06-26
Source: Equifax Information Services
The date pulled in this case was 7 weeks prior to my request.
So although they no longer list score & date, I've read no DPs they've changed their practice of using old data.
even my data 6-10 weeks ago was really similar to what i have now....maybe my UTL was at 13 or so. And the reason they provided in the letter i got doesnt seem to refer to items on my CBR, but rather a usage approach
If they're using AI logic, it can be based on a variety of data factors such as internal behavioral score, account performance/tranche and may also include outside sources such as CR data during any previous AR.

Was the verbiage the same for both letters?
Ok. I'd be curious to learn what the SAKS WEMC letter would say to compare the denial reasons on both, if any.
"A credit limit increase is currently not available upon request because Capital One is evaluating account activity at assigned credit limits."
Ive gotten this message on and off for years.
