Care credit limit increase

Hey, i'm new to this. I have a credit score of about 730 but i've only had credit for about 11 months. But I had a bill of 1,300 and payed it off in 3 months on my care credit card. My limit is at 0 and I want to do a bunch of dental work. I only have a limit of 1,800 i need to get some where in the 8-10k range. Do you think I will be approved if I ask for about 25 grand and they counter? Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

I have not had any dealings with care credit but one thing I would like to mention is that it is about more than just the score. A think credit report of only 11 months old with a score of 730 does not mean as much as a thick file with AAoA at 5+ years with a score of 700. Really, it all depends on the underwriter and if it is a "black box" auto approval.

How many open and closed tradelines do you have on your report?

11 months is still pretty much an infant in the credit world. Only way to know for sure is ask for the CLI.

Re: Care credit limit increase

You will never know till you try. It is a hard pull for care credit. I got shot down asking for a CLI. My score lower though it's between 660-700 when I asked for increase. Income is 15000/month. But I also got lots of new credit with last few months. So, can't really tell as everyone credit is different

Re: Care credit limit increase

Care credit was one of my first cards post BK and it was a godsend since I had a chronically ill dog, who eventually became ill with cancer and passed.

I think I started around $1,000 or so and they gave some auto CLI's but then at one point we were desperate for more veterinary services, and they did a manual CLI for me to $4K.

I paid a BOAT LOAD of interest over the years and finally paid it off last month. You will pay dearly if you carry a balance (I think I paid $116 a month  payment, and maybe $25 a month went toward principal) but if you have a sick pet and it's your last resort, it can make a life or death difference. Overall I am happy with CCredit and will always keep the card. My furbabies are worth keeping it "just in case". I don't know about the increase. It is Synchrony and in my experience they only give CLI when they feel like it and 99% of my increases with them have been unsolicited after I used a lot of my limit and then paid it off. But best of luck!

Re: Care credit limit increase

Care Credit is a good, but different duck. When I applied the online message told me I was denied. About 2 weeks later Credit Karma reported a new account from them with a $9k CL, then the next day or so, the card arrived. I know they are a hard pull for a cli, but so far I haven't had to ask.

Got a credit increase from Care Credit today. Called the back office # and was approved for 2000.

Re: Care credit limit increase

About a year ago I requested a cli from care credit. My scores were lower than yours 690ish TU, but my aaoa was a little over 4 yrs and the account was just over 4 yrs also. My cl was $1500, I asked for a $10k cli over the phone. I was advised there would be a hp and was countered with $9.3k cli bring my cl to $10.8k. It took less than ten minutes. Just my experience, my scores were lower, but I did have more history. Good luck to you.

Re: Care credit limit increase

Care credit is great to have on your side.

My advice is to really work on your credit score and clean it up. Make sure you have a prime card with decent balance transfer offer ready in the chamber by the 10th month, and you'll minimize interest pain in case you can't pay it off.
