No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I haven't looked into it. I wasnt sure how valued the credit score would be since it is only from being an authorized user. What sites are reccomended for finding my credit scores?
Well with a decent income and good scores you may get an instant approval vs having to recon with a thin file.
This site is where your purchase your FICO scores and reports. Let us know.

This site is the only true source of Fico's Will cost you around 60ish to get all 3 scores, but at least you know where you stand and we can give you better advise.
Pull TU/EQ/EX scores. Lack of credit history is going to be your biggest issue getting in with Chase. Granted if you have been an AU you should have a score I would believe.
You should also see if you're pre-qualified for the CSP on Chase's site: https://creditcards.chase.com/prequalified-offers
Even if you are it's not a guarantee you'll be approved, but it can be a useful indicator. I see a CSP, though am waiting for a good offer to pull the trigger.

^^ This.
Chase usually has a very accurate pre-qual, much better than most other lenders.
See if it offers you a particular card. If offers you a Freedom, with something like a 22% APR, or a Slate with 19% APR, I'd say getting a CSP looks distant.
That said, Chase likes relationship. If you're offered a card, esp. with 0 AF and decent APR (mostly 0% intro APR followed by say 15-18% after 15 months or so), I'd say take it and build your own history with Chase.
You seem to have supporting income. The only bottleneck is lack of own credit; that's where Chase pre-qual may be most useful, find out if Chase pre-likes you ![]()
Check Chase Pre-Qualification, if the CSP shows up then just app. If it doesn't get your Fico score from the 7 day Experian trial, that should give you an idea of where you are. If the pre-qualification shows up or the Experian trial shows a score of >700 skip student cards and secured cards. Don't worry about the HPs, although it depends on the CCC most of them won't care until you have 6< on each CB. You probably don't have any HPs right now so it's fine to use them.
So i got a little trigger happy and decided to apply for the Chase Freedom card. I was denied due to "lack of credit history" -understandable. I guess I am now going to look into student cards.
What are peoples thoughts on the Captial One Student Journey Card, the BoA Student travel rewards, and the citi thank you card for college students? I know the discover it card is highly reccomended for students but I travel outside of the U.S. a ton and feel sticking with visa/mastercard would be best. Thanks guys!
Also, is the BoA student card a secured card? I would prefer not to open a checking account with BoA

Sorry to hear, but figured that might happen.. I still suggest you get your Fico Scores so you know where you stand, but anyways.. I would probably go for the Student Discover personallly then after 6 months of reporting history hit up Amex then after a year you can get in with chase/Barclay's/Citi, etc... Best of luck!
Should I try calling chase and asking them to consider my checkings/savings accounts with them?

You can ask for special consideration, not sure if that will help or not.. Have your bank manager do it. There has been a recent case of someone getting specia consideration on a freedom for 1k
