Edited: I assumed wrong. It looks like it may be a fraud verification issue, fingers crossed I get official approval tomorrow. First app status number still says 30 day message, I found an alternate number that says approved, but no sl info. I then got a call from Chase that went straight to vmail and when I tried to call them back they are closed.

I applied for CSP yesterday and got the 30 day review email :/ I was prepared for a denial, so this waiting period is making me even more antsy. After doing some research I heard of 2/30 rule. I did upgrade my 5 year old Slate card to Freedom Flex last month, could that be what the issue is? I'm not sure if that would count.
AFAIK the product change of your Slate card to the Freedom Flex should not affect your chances of approval. The Chase 2/30 rule was an old rule back when you could apply for 2 cards in a 30 day period but that doesn't apply much these days. Believe applying for a second card in that timeframe comes back as a auto-denial of the app
For your CSP app the 30 day message is actually the next best message you can get if it's not an immediate approval. It means Chase is probably manually reviewing your app. Keep calling the automated application status line daily to see when that message changes and go from there. A 14 day/2 week message means there's a good chance of approval, 7-10 day message means less so but could also mean Chase wants further verification such as sending a text to the number on the app or sending ID proof as a few examples
If your credit profile is solid, you have no previous negatives with Chase and their affiliates and you are under 5/24 I would relax and let the application process play out. Good luck to you!
Though my experience with Chase was limited to an IHG card I'd had for a few years, I will say 'you never know'. When I applied for the CSP last week, I received an immediate denial. I called in to the recon line and was told that the application was eligible for reconsideration. I answered a few questions, was placed on hold and then told I had a $14K approval.
