Chase 5/24 & AU accounts

My wife applied for the Chase Freedom card and was denied for being at 5/24 when they include a terminated AU REDcard. I've heard tons of anecdotal evidence that the reconsideration line can override 5/24 AU accounts, but they don't seem to want to budge.

Has anyone had sucess with this who is willing to share how they got them to reconsider the denial?

Her credit was excellent, dropped to very good when we paid off everything (going back from AZ to AZEO next month, but that doesn't help us now).

We have over $17k in checking & savings with them, but can't get them to even look that far

Re: Chase 5/24 & AU accounts

I think it's nuanced in that yes, they can ignore it if you're 6/24 with 2 AUs maybe... but you're somewhere around 9/24 with Experian Boost/self reported and AU accounts.

That many extra accounts is rather inexcusable. Like said in the other post, just remove and dispute away all of them (you don't need any of them) and re-apply with a fresh pull.

Re: Chase 5/24 & AU accounts

The weird part is that they're now excluding the Boost accounts and saying we're at 5/24 (9/24 was an outright error, even with experian Boost accounts- I found out when I went in to delete them there weren't as many as I thought).

I was ready to write off Chase for the time being, but when they agreed that we are 5/24 including the terminated account, I got my hopes up. We're just so close to them rightfully counting it as 4/24
