Just curious if there's a work around here. A chase new account is out of the question considering the 5/24 rule. Please stick to the question asked if you would like to comment. Thank you.
I don't have experience with what you are asking but it seems like both requests would go under the scrutiny of their lending team. Honestly, it might be just luck of the draw depending on who reviews the accounts and your overall profile. Has much changed since the original AA?
Yes I've reduced my debt, but in the review for a reinstatement they sited too much available credit and that I'm still obtaining new credit.
Their lending dept is rough to deal with. I've had zero luck with them. As long as everything happens automatically I'm good with Chase though
I would be annoyed with it if I was in your situation but sometimes you just have to let it chill for a while and get back to it in like 6 months. If too much available credit is really the issue they have with your profile that will be difficult to overcome. Gardening also sucks really bad soooooo......... LOL
tough to deal with indeed!
I guess the part that bothers me is all the little limits that I now have with Chase. Once I combine the cards into the CSP @ 28k, I'll be satisfied. Although, I want to keep the Marriott and Hyatt cards for the free night stays. The CSP really doesn't benefit me but it is my oldest Chase card.

I have a few low limit cards as well. It bothers me too. I kind of want to set a minimum limit that I'm willing to keep for each card that I have. Like anything under 10K is on the chopping block or something along those lines ![]()

Probably a good decision. Not trying to bring you down or anything----but knowing how Chase can be and seeing as they took the AA in the first place, it's highly unlikely IMO that they will restore those limits. And with the amount of credit you already have, a new card may be a possibliity--but it will probably have a low limit also. I only have $11.5K with them across 3 cards--all SL's....and they will probably stay that way until I close them or they close them b/c they've gotten enough HP's from me on failed CLI attempts and 2 denied Marriott apps--no more. They're really not one of my high priority lenders anymore like they were at the start of my rebuild 3 years ago. And USAA is not that far above them.
