Nothing terribly extreme - I'd say the most I ever went was 40% of the limit. I'd always pay it off before the statement closed though so that high a util was never reported to the bureaus.

I did take a HP but I went from $500 to $5k on a request.

This is what I'm doing.  I've had a Freedom for 18 months and an FU for 10 with no CLI's.  Even tried with a HP in March and got nothing.  Had an Offer for the CSP and got it with it's $5000 limit.  I'll be splitting that limit between my Freedom and FU before the AF hits.
