Chase CSP 7-10 or 30days?

I've never had an instant approval with Chase so, I'm not surprised by the "pending further review" message.

However, the email confirmation says we'll let you know within 30 days but, the telephone checker says 7-10 days. Three weeks ago the SWRR had the 30 day message on both and the card showed up in my online account after 3-4 days.

I have no idea how to interpret these disparate messages. In general, 7-10 is usually a denial while 30 days seems to be an approval

7-10 day is usually a denial by automated phone system and 30 day or 2 week is usually a good sign unless it is verification or the likes after it was in 30 day or two weeks for awhie..  Was it at 30 day or two week ever by phone system or pretty much 7-10 days always?

Re: Chase CSP 7-10 or 30days?

SWRR was definitely 30 days by phone check. I honestly don't remember the email number but, this seems to be the reverse. Phone 7-10, email 30

Just checked, the SWRR & CSP application confirmation emails are identical

How many cards do you have with the last 24 months?  Greater than 5 approvals?    I am sure you are probably aware of CSP/Freedom are instant decined if you have more than 5 cards within a 24 month time period.  Just making sure this isn't the case?

Re: Chase CSP 7-10 or 30days?

When I applied for the Chase Freedom card, I received a 30-day Email. The phone automated application status line said 7-10 days. I figured that was just standard.

Based on advice here and elsewhere, I'm not going to call the recon numbers. I only have two Chase cards currently: Sapphire Preferred and United Explorer, both opened in the past year. Both cards have another Authorized User (my wife). Do AUs count in calculating the 5/24 rule? I'm still hoping the Freedom will be approved...

I sure hope the 30-day message being good news is more the rule than the exception!  I called again today and got a second 30-day message. I think I will wait it out for 5-days. So, I expect to know something at least by next Monday. I leave for an international trip in a few weeks. I sure would like to have this card with me when I go.

Also, it seems silly with all the electronic communication that they can't send you an email asking you to call for verification. They would rather keep you in the dark and waste paper and postage to tell you the same thing? Seems odd to me.

I agree that Chase needs to improve communcations with its cardholders and applicants. There's no reason we should have to guess what a 7-10 day, two week, or 30-day mesage means!

For my part, I'm still getting the 7-10 day message via the automated status line for my Freedom application. Fingers crossed this doesn't mean what I think it does. Hopefully they simply need verification...

Re: Chase CSP 7-10 or 30days?

For the most part, as most folks have reported, the 7-10 message typically yields a declined application. This is not set in stone but that's typically the consensus.

They seem to be fine IMO as far as communications since not every application that yields exception processing is handled the same way.

Whenever I've applied, I receive the same emails with the 30-day notice but I don't bother to call let alone every hour/day to find out if the message changes or stays the same. IME, every Chase application has yielded an approval even though it's not instant. Maybe I'm just patient Smiley Happy

Re: Chase CSP 7-10 or 30days?

I just recently applied for a Chase Freedom from the pre qual site. It said I was pre qualified and had a button to accept offer. When I submitted my application it said we're sorry we can not approve you at this time and a letter will be sent to you in 30 days stating our reasons.

Ok, kinda figured I was aiming a little high on that one right now with a new move (less than 4 months ago) high inqs (14) and quite a few new accounts this year (6) most of the inqs and new accounts were for the new house, furniture, household goods and whatnot. Got the accounts because they all offered spend bonuses which I knew I could meet and pay off right away. Which I did.

Well that was 2 weeks ago that applied and kind of forgot about it. Today I received an Welcome to Chase Freedom email. I was like huh? The email gave me the last 4 digits of my new account, so I called the phone number entered the last 4 digits of new account and bam it told me I was approved for $4500 SL not bad. Told me my card would be here in 7-10 days.

So I have found with Chase even a denial can turn into an approval. So until you actually get a denial letter watch your email and they may just surprise you.
