@tbgothard, congrats. Like @Jnbmom had mentioned, getting back in is still a possibility. I'm just going to hold my horses and wait until my BK falls off then try again. Hope everything works out for you. Thanks!

Why a mortgage with chase?

@simoncww wrote:Appreciate your quick respond. I just retrieved my BK file through PACER and found Chase is one of the creditor. Though I'm not sure how much I burned them (if any). Is there anyway to find out? If the amount is small and within my means, I don't mind paying it off. Thanks again.
I also burned Chase in my 2016 BK. I continued to maintain a checking and savings with them since that time. I also got the same message you did about not any potential offers while logged into my checking account. However, a couple of weeks ago while on Amazon I got a pop up to apply for the Chase Amazon. I applied, although I was really apprehensive considering the circumstances, and was approved for $10K. Everything showed up immediately when I logged back in to my checking account.
I would say check the pre-approval for this card through the Amazon interface. Apparently Chase is more relaxed with Amazon because I honestly didn't think I'd be back with them. Oh and BTW, my BK is still on my reports.

Chase has long memory .. Burned them years ago on chase card
Surprising .. They didn't close my other Chase cards .. Took 8 years to get new Card
You have a decent line of cards available to you judging by your profile. If you have two years left before the bankruptcy discharges, what would it hurt to inquire? That inquiry will fall off in two years anyways.
I've heard of some crazy stuff occuring with bankruptcy, anywhere from people securing home loans, to short sellers short selling back to themselves so the lenders can write off the difference.
You just never know. I don't see a disadvantage if you attempt to apply. You have a two year wait either way. Inquiring is an opportunity.

@Realist , took a leap of faith and not surprisingly got declined because of past BK. Hey, at least I know why. Don't care about the hard pull. Like you said, it'll fall off the sametime the BK falls off the record. Thanks!
