Chase Freedom Unlimited - 7-10 pending approval.

Hi,

I applied for the FU card this morning (through CK) and the tab window said "pending", but the text body says "Thank you for your request. Unfortunately, we are unable to approve your request. We will provide you more detailed information by U.S. mail in 7-10 days that explains the reasons for this decision."

I called the recon line and the kind gentleman said it wasn't denied, but still pending. Guess I'm just going to have to hope for the best in 7-10 days and maybe call recon again and plead my case? Maybe submit documents?

I have 1 year of history under my belt and I've paid in full, w/ low utilization. I reeeeally want this card. Anybody have or been through a similar case? 770 from Discover scorecard.

Do you have any more details about your profile that could be useful?

Number of inquiries in last 6/12 months, Number of cards opened in the last 6/12 months, installment loans, etc.

Nope, nothing. Just the card from discover. Hindsight is telling me I should’ve opened an Amex card before applying? Lol
I’m really hoping I can sweet talk my way through recon, and tell them all my positive data points but who knows.

Have you tried calling the App status line to see what it says?

Thanks! Glad to be here. And I called the "robo-lady"... (800) 436-7927. Says 7-10 days and it's the most info they have.

Generally, the 7-10 message can be either a request for additional verification or a denial.

If the application is still in the processing stages, calling them every day is not going to expedite things, especially if they mention that no additional information is required while the application goes through its paces.

I called the 800 status line number and same message. Being reviewed and will take 7-10 days in writing.

Should I call in tomorrow morning-afternoon and see what the status is, moreso if there’s anything I can do to alleviate the process? Or should I wait it out? I’m running out of patience... but I’m willing to keep waiting it out for the letter in the mail.
