I called just now and the card was still not approved.
I said like you told. But the analyst said that because the min credit for the United is 5k, he cannot see any card I have exceeds that value and also the short credit history. so he can not approve the card. I thought there's no way to make it approved....
@Anonymous,
Sorry you didn't get approved. If $5000 is the minimum, then no amount of recon. will get you approved. At least, the analyst was very honest with you. But don't be down or anything, look at this in a positive way. I know you want you want to take advantage of the offer currently but chase always runs promotions. It probably will shock you that at the 2 months you are ready to app. again, a better offer will come out and you will be glad you didn't get approved for this. I think your chances will be much much better when the Amex hits your report and you show a little history with chase. So take this with a grain of salt and get everything in order to apply again in 2 months. The good thing is you gave it your all.... Don't recon and let it be.
Also, let let this ruin your weekend. Have a good weekend.
@Anonymous,
That is the spirit. Chase runs promotions all the time. Sometimes the next promotion is better than before. In 2 months, apply again...
This thread is a study in perseverance, managing negotiations, the art of mentoring, and last but not the least, the nuances of credit recon. Worth reading every post here !

Would you mind listing the cards (and limits) and your current scores?
