Thin file. Either do as Yes-Its-Me posted or wait a little longer and get some history with your new AMEX.

Agree with the others.  Your history is short.  AMEX won't help unless you have some payments established.  Keep your utilization low, wait a bit, and recon.

@ Yes it me, Thanks a lot. I do not have amex report and the amex card is not posted to my FICO and TU reports, maybe the reason is the card still on the way. But for my discover card, the report is very clean. I am thinking to wait for a week and then maybe my amex card is posted to these credit reports, then call the reconsider phone again. How do you think?

@Anonymous,

You have up to 30 days to recon with Chase. If your Amex is not reporting then you are be a bit challenged. I'd recon once and then wait because you'd  actually  be in a better position if you wait for at least 2 months. And don' a apply for any chase card then. Here is why.

A) You have a Discover card that has 11 month of history and in 2 months, it should be at least a bit over a year having the card. Chase likes a 1 year history at least.

B)Amex takes up 1 month to 2 month to report to the bureau.  Waiting a week for Amex to report is not going to happen.  But that 1-2 month Amex reports is actually a plus in your favor.  It will post all your payments you have made and by that time, you should also do your 3xCLI with Amex bringing you to $16.5k provided you are approved.

Then when you go and apply with Chase, they will see you have a year under your belt, a high limit etc.  Should you be approved then a decent starting limit will be given to you.  Remember, the credit game is about patience.  Don't apply back to back when denied as it results in a hard pull.

@ Yes-Its-Me, Thanks for your suggestions.

Becasue I applied for 2 chase credit cards: freedom and united mileage, which one do you think I would call for reconsideration?

I can not call reconsider after one month?

If the reconsider call failed, I would do as you said waiting for 2months.

By the way, I am thinking to apply for a travel card, do you have some ideas? I intended to do Barclaycard arrival world, or CSP, or united mileage, or any other good cards. But I have no idea which one is easier to be approved and which one is better for me. I traveled 5 times per year mainly demestic but this summer, I have an international trip, I would my new credit card would let me spend less on flights.

Thanks again.

Hi there,

I just call the reconsider for the freedom. and I spoke with the guy as you said, and they said I do not have enough credit cards with not long enough history, I explained as you said. But still refused me. I do not know if the I need to call the 3rd time.Smiley Sad

Or I directly wait for another 2 months.

I am wondering if I need to reapply 2 months later?

By the way, do you have some ideas which travel card is good for me to apply after 2 months.

Thanks.

Will they keep hard pull my credit if I keep calling?

Would I say I was denied and ask for reconsideration? it seems they have records that indicate you already be refused.

Thanks.

Nah just put a restraing order on you.. ***Disclaimer: Barclay's couldn't handle Nixon anymore and just gave him the Salle Mae for him to go away**

In all seriousness they won't HP you again if within a reasonable amount of time.  You can try and might get lucky with a good U/W through the backdoor #, but for some reason they like to see a year with most people, but some people get in with 6 months of history... So clearly something on a profile gets people in with 6 months vs. 1 year history.
