Will being added as an authorized user for a CSP(10,200 CL) help me get a chase card, specifically the southwest card. I would like to get back into the good graces of Chase. About 5 years ago I had two charge-offs; 1 from CapOne and one from Chase. I have had a great relationship with CapOne for the past year now but I have tried twice to get a chase card and both times ended in denial. My girlfiriend put me on as an AU on her CSP in hopes that I will be able to get back into their good graces. Bottom line, am I screwed with their company forever? Thank you for your help!
It is unlikely that being added as an AU will get you back in with Chase at this point in time. From Chase's point of view, your charge off is too fresh to give you another chance. You're not screwed forever, but it will take a while.

Welcome to MyFico. As CapTool says bring an AU isn't going to help getting back in with Chase. Have you paid back the money that was charged off? That would be the first step in getting back in their good graces.
Am I better off waiting until both of those fall off 2 years from now? Is there a time frame for these types of issues? Bottom line, when do I know that Chase is ready to take my leap?
As Irish has said have you paid them back? If not pay them back and hopefully that is the first step in mending your relationship.. Think of it this way if someone didn't pay you back, would you lend them money again? Best of luck!

You didnt answer Irish's question did you pay Chase back? If no then if you wait 10 years, it probably won't help you. Capital One is forgiving, Chase isn't so much

Unfortunately whether they fall off or not doesn't make a difference. Chase has a long memory. It's can take many many years for them to forgive. Took me 19 years to get in after a charge off in a small product that Chase bought out. Will it take you that long? Probably not but the only way to know if you're back in their good graces is to apply every year or so and then recon and plead your case. Paying them back though is a good start.
I'm sorry I just noticed this response. I have paid both back in FULL directly to both companies 2 years ago.

That will help you a lot. You just have to try periodically.

Also call this # each time and plead your case and one time you will get lucky and they will throw you a lifeline.. It might take a few years before they are wiilling to forgive. It will always be a recon call though, never an instant approval
