Chase Hotel Rewards Card

Okay, I am really looking for 1 more Hotel card, preferably V/MC to supplement my HHonors card now.

Has anyone any DP on ease of getting either the Marriott Bonvoy base card or the IHG base/World of Hilton cards?

Score is 630 650 range, no current HP or INQs or BKs at all.

Re: Chase Hotel Rewards Card

You don't provide enough info for insight

Looking through your posts you have lates and collections?

I would lean towards Chase cards not being approved unless you get pre-qualed/pre-approved

Only thing I can tell you is make sure you are under 5/24 before applying. I was denied at 6/24 for the World of Hyatt card back in December.

As of today, no collections, and 1 30 day late from Open Sky about year ago...sigh.

Heh. I tried the pre qualified linky, but keeps telling me I may have opted out for any more screening offers...

Worse case is I may have to go to a branch after work and see if they'll SP a answer for me. Dang, hate that, much easier through the computer, but that's just me...lol.

Hmmm, I *should* be okay; my last 3 cards I tapped and received over a year ago...2 Amex and Amazon Prime Store card...haven't pulled the trigger on any other card outside SP apps.

Strictly referencing 5/24: While you can be denied for excessive inquiries, 5/24 is about new accounts showing as opened on your personal account not inquiries.

>>> Then I should be okay again, still under the 5/24 rule, unless I get lucky and they grant me 2 cards...lol.

Any idea which card is the most forgiving to app for? If I have a choice, I'd try for one, along with the IHG branded card...but one of them would be nice to have in the wallet.

I think they are all the same. You won't see any prequalifications from Chase's prequal pages other than CF\CFU\Sapphire cards.

I've had black star prequals (not a green pre-approval) for the Marriott Boundless, UA, and SW airline cards in the "just for you" and "credit cards" section of my Chase account late last year. I've never had anything show up on Chase's prequal site, but that is a separate topic.

If I had to guess, and this is purely a 100% guess, I'd say the Marriott is the easiest. I am just taking a shot in the dark, and guessing since they are willing to put it on prequals, that it would be easier to get overall.

Well, one of those DP I should included was I have mo relationship with Chase...hopefully they would still consider me, even without an account, but some places are funny about that...shrug.
