Chase Hyatt -Declined- Long Story

I applied for Chase Hyatt today..

I got the screen which showing it can take to 30 days for response.

Called application status line and prompted "7-10 day" msg. At this point I already felt it was declined, but I wanted closure.

Called back spoke to rep who simply confirmed my suspicions.. application was declined.

I did not stop their.. I called credit analyst. Again they confirmed denial, but gave reasons. He saud 1) Recent new accounts (1 in Dec 2 in Nov) 2) Balances on cards spread over 6 cards (over util 13%) 3) Charge off on account from 2013 w/BOA (totally understandable)..

I thanked the information. Since most of the concerns can be addressed, what length of time would he recommend before reapplying. He said, "He cannot say, since many factors affect credit reports. (Again understandable) But there is website call MyFICO, and they may be able to help you."

Lesson learned and maybe i was too eager today, but I will use the rest of the year to garden for the card I want. I will have inquiries fall off, so hopefully damage won't be to long. I thought it was a little silver lining when he mentioned the MyFICO community.

Sorry about your decline. Had to laugh at the Chase analyst recommending that you check out MyFico for advice though.

Sorry for the decline.  Call them back and tell them you checked with MyFico and they said you should approve the application.

Re: Chase Hyatt -Declined- Long Story

#3 is the biggest things for Chase IMO..The BofA charged off accounts.   Have you paid these CO's off?  I have had many talks with Analysts with Chase over the last year and I had a few CO's that weren't paid and that was their sticking point although old..  They said they don't care about scores persay but about profile and if I pay them I would be viewed alot more favorably by them they HATE unsecured CO's account as you are asking them for the exact same(this came from the analyst mouth basically as I stated it exactly).  I bit the bullet and paid them as I was meaning to do... Guess what my next application was approved with them for 17.5k and the following one a month later for 11.5k

Sorry about denial lower UTL wait for HP's to drop and good luck

Or +1 Irish

Call back tell them hundreds of Fico analyst reviewed your app and recommended approval with expedited shipping of your card

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
