I want to know how likely I'll get Chase IHG. It has a 70k pts promotion shown in my IHG account.
I put all of my money in Chase (around 20k~30k) and have Freedom $0.5k even w/o SSN. I have Freedom since last Feb, which is my oldest one. Get CLI to $1k after 5 months.
I applied 4 card last Nov, get denied from Chase Amazon reward, it said my credit history isn't long enough. But aprrove Discover 1.5k Capital one Jounery 1k (upgrade to quicksilver recently) and Amex BCE 3k. Last Dec applied AAA reward, approve 0.8k. All pay on time and low utilization (below 15%).
My FICO now TU 682 EQ 692 doesn't seem good. But I'll take trips in Mar and May, so I want to get this card ASAP. Is there any suggestion? Should I wait for another statement to be reported?
Time is your friend.. Chase likes a year of history.. Do you have this yet? You mentioned Freedom, how long have you had this card? You can't speed Chase up if they don't want to..So what is your Average age of Account now.. Chase can care less that you have an Amex for the most part as Amex wil approve you as will discover with about 6 months of credit history or even less on occassion.
Also the 20k-30k is most likely what got you approved for the freedom in the first place or they would of told you to pouind sand if you had no credit history.. Take it as a good will gesture they did for you for opening an account.. Not to sound abrasive, but long story short you have to show history with them, they really don't care you have that money in their bank.. They keep banking and credit products seperated.
Also opening those new accounts didn't really do you a favor with chase either as that is seeking credit rapidly from having no credit or SSN prior... The good news if I read it right you opened your Freedom in Feb.. Once that reports for 12 months I would suggest applying again after 12 statements post and you might get approved?

Is the IHG promotion recent? I would take that chance, and app through that link. I suspect (don't have specific data) that Chase operates a little differently on these co-branded cards. A little easier to get.
Combined with that CLI you already got on the Freedom, I would say that is enough for a try.
Good luck!

Because I do see all of my friends having chase account get Freedom easily but the one doesn't get denied twice. But maybe this just works only for Freedom.
Thanks for you advice, I'll try it after 12 statements post.

OMG, are these denials because of doesn't have long enough credit histroy? My average age of accounts is only 3 mos due to 4 accounts open last Nov.

I would suggest doing a simple usage of the Freedom card, PIF after the statements cut, NOT before statement cuts, and then app for IHG on March 15. You've got some time to continue to build your file, and with this specific offer, I still think you have a good chance to get it. Knowing when the carriage turns into a pumpkin is very helpful, it allows you to take some time to get ready, to pretty up your file. AAoA will be two months longer, inquiries will be fading (you should do NO OTHER APPS just to be clear here), so yeah, my suggestion is to pull the trigger some time between March 15 - March 20.
Good luck!
Hmm, is 70K the standard offer right now?
We got 80K with the wife's app.

It's 60K right now on Chase's website.
